I can sort of see it from both sides, you're quite right that all those things are true and they haven't taken things out of context as such, but I can understand if they portrayed the fandom as purely a sexual thing, as in the focused solely of the sex as though that was all there was to the fandom

All I'm saying is, People shouldn't bitch and throw blame when they bring it on themselves, I dont care how the fandom is viewed, I'm just here for art and fun! and at the end of the day its all that really matters. :)

very legitimate things to be pissed about, in my opinion - now the furry fandom isn't a race or a religion or anything, but I think it can be viewed in a vaguely similar light

At the end of the day life is not fair, there's always going to be stereotypes and biases, but that doesn't mean I don't think it's worth being righteous about, or whatever.

Not that I'm waving the flag for the furry fandom or anything, I could really care less, but I do feel strongly about a lot of things of this nature.

yeah but it can be a problem where if you partake in a particular fetish or something like that, and it's associated with other hobbies and on top of that, it's generalized as if EVERYONE does that or that that's the only aspect to you, I can understand why people would get upset.

It's like me being secretly filmed performing S&M and then everyone was told about it and a video was made about (or something like that) and everyone assumed that that's all I did, tie people up and what not and that I must be some sex crazed bitch, I would be a little annoyed at the way I had been portrayed and although admittedly there is a difference here because this is public stuff rather then private, it's still kinda judgmental and purposefully portrayed in a negative way and those generalizations end up spreading to people who weren't involved in all that but by association of being a furry, they must be into that shit. I guess the other annoying thing about it, is that it's such typical journalism, I totally get that that's how journalism is these days, sensationalizing gossip, but it doesn't stop me being annoyed by it, and not when it comes to furries or stuff like that, just news in general but I'm getting on a tangent now.

I don't really care about any of that, people will ALWAYS talk about you, even if your not a celebrity, everyone feels that they are boring and always want to know about other peoples lives because they view them as "Interesting" so if your an interesting person or someone finds you interesting then people are GOING to talk about you and everything they know about you.

I just let 'em talk and I don't bitch because I've nothing to bitch about people find me interesting, its a compliment.

What I'm saying is that if you: Want to go to a furry con to have sex and then broadcast it, and then bitch when it gets thrown back in your face, not to complain because you broadcasted it first, I am talking about people bitching about something they do openly and EVERYONE KNOWS, it's just so dumb.

I don't find people talking about me or anyone I know as a compliment, that's just going down that route of "they don't like you cause they're jealous" or "that person stole your artwork cause they like it you should take it as a form of flattery", it's slightly backwards thinking in my opinion.

What about the sneaking in? You said they had to sneak in in order to show that stuff, that seems as though they were trying to put some level of privacy on that part at the least if someone has to "sneak in"

lets be honest, are they really just showing the evidence and saying "make your own mind up about this" or are they putting a negative connotation on it and trying to make it look as though they are sex crazed deviants who do nothing but fuck each other in fursuits, they aren't going to imply that this is merely an unusual hobby/fetish that they occasionally partake in are they, they will sensationalize it as much as possible which of course happens with this sort of shit but i can understand individuals getting annoyed if they feel certain things are taken out of context or really negative things are said about them over things that aren't really that terrible, admittedly when there's shit like chatting up a 15 year old and you know they are 15 then it's hard to defend yourself but I don't think any of it was that bad
