Insu-Chun??? Or Chan???

I've read enough anime's to notice that the girls names end in "-Chan" and the boys names end in "-Chun" I have never seen vise-versa. Is it true that only girls can have Chan and boys can only have Chun?....
...Japanese tradition??
My new characters name is Insu-Chun. She is a girl. If it is true that Chun can only be for boys im going to have to change it.

For them both it can be -san
and for a girl it can be either -san or -chan. you can say either.
but for guys, it's almost always -kun. c: hope that helps.
