Losing Weight
14 years ago
Welcome to Bo-san's Journal! =D Yay! We are still alive! I hope no one had sold set your stuff on fire or something. x3
Well, the topic says it all. I'm willing to lose weight. I guess it's a personal thing that I shouldn't be spreading around, but it's fun and inspiring to see what you guys have to say. =) Maybe I should start a facebook account or something...
Anyways, I currently weigh 75 Kilos (165 pounds) and I am 168 cm tall (5.5 feet). According to my nutrionist, my ideal weight is 68 KG (149 pounds).
I really want to look better and..well, there's another reason, but that's for another journal(maybe x3).
I'm taking care of what I eat and doing my best not to eat sweets. =< I also joined a gym and I am going jogging everyday for an hour. It's boring and I hate exercising. Dx But that's the only way. x3 I wish I didn't do this all by myself. It's more fun to work out with a friend. =)
I'd like to know how you manage to keep your weigh or maybe your thoughts about getting thinner, if it matters or not. I usually let you guys speak without replying to you, but this time I'd like to get more in touch with you all. I mean, you are all so kind. ^^
Oh! Beau asked me to ask you if he could help you with the random ideas. He said it was really fun. =3 I still have to check that thread out.. x3
Let's talk!
FA+

I played DDR almost every day for a month and I saw myself toning out.
Thats just my experience.
Zumba is also a nice work out :D
Sure you can make it!! go for it and good luck!
I've been told that all anyone should drink is water as it boosts one's metabolism by 30% and cutting all sugary drinks cuts hundreds of calories in it's self. I've also heard of japan creating a banana diet of some sort where eating 2 or more bananas in the morning has certain starches that reduce or cut fat throughout the day, I haven't tried it but who knows!
also,
your so lucky im trying to gain wait
Thanks for the tips. Hope you grow fast as well. =)
There are plenty of calorie counting calculators out there, I use http://caloriecount.about.com .
It's really easy, just record everything you eat by searching for it. They have almost everything on the website so you don't have to keep track of the nutritional facts yourself.
It'll tell you approximately how many calories you should be eating per day to lose x amount of pounds in y amount of time. It's really worked out for me in the past!
Thanks for the link man, I've been needing one of those =3
but i don't think that's a really valid reason to lose weight. though, if it motivates you, go for it.
such juicy puns all in there.
My brother, as well as my parents, gain weight very easily, and it's hard for them to loose it. My brother started out at 185 lbs, and with weight lifting every day, he dropped down to 125. However, he hasn't been able to do it in year, and he gained back to 165.
I am your height (5'5") and I have the opposite problem of my parents and brother-- I am always underweight.
Currently I weigh 105 lbs. If I don't eat at least three meals a day,I lose wight drastically. In fact, two years ago I weighed *only* 89 lbs.. and I am almost 30 ^^;
A problem though that my friend is having is that you won't lose any weight if you don't also cut back on your intake, but I'm sure you know this, but it is a lot harder than it sounds.
Oh, and when you've finally lost the weight, keep exercising. Das very important.
Cheers, mate.
But like you, I find exercise boring.
Maybe I'll find something to keep me interested.
bem, não sei se te ajudei, mas te dei umas sujestoões ^^;
abraços =)
After being 112 through most of high school, I gained 4 pounds when I started working out my senior year.
But once I got to college, I lost the time to work out and I dropped back to 112.
And this morning I weighed myself and I was 109. ;0; I'm 5'7" (~170cm).
I currently weigh around 330lb (150 kilo), and this is down from 370lb (about 168 kilo) in the fall of last year. I used to weigh 260lb 118 kilos(). I presently measure 52" (132 cm) at the waist and 56" (142 cm) at the chest, and stand 5'10" tall. (178cm) The healthiest measurements in my life were 40" (102cm) at the waist, and 56" at the chest (that measurement doesn't seem to fluctuate much, I list it because I'm a very stocky, large-boned guy).
I don't know how much you're eating so I can't say if you're doing that right, but you probably are.
For losing weight, short periods of very high intensity weights/ body weigh exercise and cardio are better than endurance exercise at burning fat. The level of intensity burns more calories and does more damage to your muscles, so that your body is burning more calories during the time after your workout to recover than it would from a strictly cardio workout. It's better to kick your own ass for thirty minutes four or five times a week than to do long periods of light exercise. This much I DO know from experience. I've gained and lost a lot of weight over the years. Keeping it in one place is the challenge for me x3
By eating the right amount of food for your ideal wight and level of activity, you'll lose weight; you want to eat less than you burn. By combining a 2400 calorie diet with a workout regimen and an active lifestyle I was able to go from 330lb to 260lb in a period of three or four months. I had to be very careful to make sure I wasn't eating too much, and by doing the same thing without exercising significantly since christmas. That's 40 lb and a couple inches of waist GONE in just a few months, just by making sure I'm eating the right amount of food. If I were exercising too, I'd be where I want right now. Work -Smarter- not harder =3
Additionally, I suggest getting a pack of wild dogs to chase after you. Should get you running in no time.
You say Facebook? Gee..I thought you don't show it true pic. OK whatever if you do. ^^
Also, switch the diet plan to one that includes greater protein count and less carbohydrate count.
1) Eat more meals but less quantity. This will speed up your metabolism. The common idea of having 3 meals a day is actually a reason why so many people are as heavy as they are - four would actually be more appropriate, spaced evenly through out the day.
2) Dark Chocolate is one of the highest sources of antioxidants and - eaten sparingly - may actually help cleanse your body. Many blue and purple fruits and vegetables also have plenty of antioxidants contained within - it's what gives them their coloration! :)
3) Alternate the kind of workouts you do each day. Do cardio one day then focus on a muscle group the next. Not only will this prevent injury, but your body will also get the rest it needs between exercising. Also this prevents your body from going into a 'comfort zone' as quickly. What I mean by this is that should you do cardio every single day, your body will eventually get used to the task and the progress you've seen before will eventually plateau and prevent further improvements.
There are some more -drastic- ways that have been proven to work, but a 16 pound difference isn't really that bad. My friend is 6'1" 230 lbs. and his ideal weight is supposed to be 185 max. He asked me to help him get a routine going and I've actually made a schedule that will ease him into the workouts. If you'd like, I could share it with you. Just send me a note if you're interested.
And by what you have said it sounds like you've got a good idea of what you are doing :)
The Facebook account sounds pretty interesting but why not take it a bit further and make a group or something? Maybe have a nifty name like Fit & BEAU-tiful (okay not that cheesy X3) and make it so you or anyone else trying to lose weight (or even gain muscle or such) can go for tips on how to accomplish their goals or even pictures of how they are doing. You could even have something like a competition of sorts to lose weight so in a way you could have friends that you are losing weight with! :D
hehe a bit of a silly idea maybe but if by chance you were to go with something similar I would be one of the first to join because there is much I can share and it is a goal that I have as well :)
Eat protein, drink green tea, walk if you don't like to run, decrease sugar consumption ^^
I think they said there was an experiment that showed that having a bit of spicy cayenne pepper in tomato soup helped people feel full and avoid sweets as the pepper helped to increase the rate of metabolism quicker
as for cardio. If you have DDR and are good at it, do that. If not I do a mix of yoga/pillates and a lot of running.
You might also want to do some sort of weight resistance for muscle tone. Muscle tone makes it look like you've actually lost more weight faster even if you actually put on more weight cause of the muscle.
