The binding of this sketchbook is literally so small I wasnt aware it existed until the silverfish dove into it.

DID YOU KNOW that you can cut a silverfish in half and both sides will keep living and become individual silverfish?

I'd say cut the binding off and burn the thing a live with an aerosaul can and a lighter, then just rebind it with rings or something D:

Actually, those are worms that live if you cut them in half (one half will eventually die, since it can't make a new mouth) Silverfish will die, they can't regrow their mouth-parts by molting. However, they can live up to a year without food, so it's best to kill them off in one go. Silverfish eat the starches in books, which is why you found him in your book. They also are fans of carbs and sugars, so they can be in pantries too.

I'd recommend calling an exterminator. Orkin is great. If you still have problems after they come, they will return free of charge, and they will take care of anything new that crops up free of charge.

Silverfish like it wet, so if you can change the humidity in your house, that will help.

If you want to kill the bugger in your book put your books in a ziplock bag with some desiccant or Borax. Store the books inside your freezer for three days. The temperature will help kill him.

put up the book half-opened, so the binding would be open, and let the remants of that silverfish dry. after a while you might be able to blow, or brush it out with a q-tip.

some time ago, one sunday morning right after I sat up in bed to start a new day, something dropped onto my cushion. turned out it was a little scarabeus... while putting it out into the garden I mused that it might be time to clean the room out again if scarabeus'es (scarabei?) decided to crawl in... XD

Silverfish don't contain much water as I recall - they tend to powder when crushed. Canned air is probably your best bet. Cutting the spine off if you want to be sure.

I think I would would flail shake it really hard over a tissue or something and see if it pops out, or put your sketchbook in a really cold place. Maybe put your sketchbook in a plastic bag and put it in your freezer, that'll probably kill it and or make it easier to remove?

Learn to live in peace with it, open up negotiations, try to make your two lands become as one, for when the wasps come you need as many allies as you can get.

You crush it with your knuckles, naturally.

The worst part is the sparkly smear the leave behind wherever they get smashed.

Nothing like going to get a tupperware style container out of the closet to find a silverfish inside :(
