I, have that same problem. Most recent way I got someone to like me, is to laugh along with them (unless their laughing at you or someone) and slowly contribute to what their saying. It worked for me the beginning of the school year and I dubbled in friends. (10 to 20 xD)

Fursuits! Fursuits make being sociable so easy. When I was at FC, I felt alive and like I could do anything in a suit. Give out hugs, chill with other suiters, and give more hugs! :D I love fursuits

Oh, I have a fursuit, as you know. Without that, I don't think I could do anything. It...I dunno...gives me a sense of freedom, breaks the introvert in me

i used to be the same way and i just kinda threw myself into convos i got ignored alot yes but i kept on trying and it worked now that i have a suit it make sit easier

Just find one or two people who you enjoy and spend time with them. I'm a huge introvert, myself, and I find that more than that tends to tire me out immensely when I have to be around them for long periods of time.

mmm... the way that i could think off when i was at a 'loner' stage would be to try and interact with others. When you meet someone, say hi or hello and asked how was the ride here. When i meet with a new fur, I'd usually introduce myself and ask who that person is and ask how he/she get here or how was the trip or some sort. AFter that, if you know that that person is studying, talk and ask how was the course is or something... if it's about work.. just talk a bit about work. And you'll, eventually, relate to your own personal experience. Expand a talk topic and slowly, you'll get to know about each other.

I was an introvert myself but through recent meeting with other local furs around here, not to mention extremely famous muscle artist like Kyuuhari or wolfiecanem, I've began to talk more comparatively. Just try to expand. Relate through experience. Games especially if it's a guy. If it's a girl... um... you know.. i need girl talk XD

You don't really have to throw yourself into a conversation. You'd be surprised how friendly furs really are towards others. My first convention I knew no one at all. I wandered around and looked at the art and went to panels. Eventually, wandering around and looking generally in a pleasant mood attracts others in pleasant moods. You'd be surprised how a "hello" can turn into a good hang out friend for an entire weekend or a good talk about nothing at all yet a few hours long. You dont have to go and be everyone's friend. Just need to go out and try being A friend and you'd be surprised how well it could turn out.

im shy but in a fursuit im not as shy and i dont have to talk to people if im in suit :D im one of the suiters that will not talk. im scared to talk to people anyway

Yeah, I know. I really wanna work on it this year...try to do as much as I can and meet heaps of people

say hi to people, start small talk, being a lil buzzed on some booze helps loosen you up (dont get wasted tho). simply find people that have the same interests as you do

Haha, I don't drink, so that's a no-go. And it's the whole 'saying hi' to people that I find most...uncomfortable

One thing I've noticed about furs is, they tend to be VERY open to new people...which makes sense at a con, especially a large one, since EVERYONE is gonna be meeting new people at a con.

And if saying hi is uncomfortable...do it anyway. force yourself to start a conversation, especially if you come across people talking about something you like.

And remember: (this might not help much but its still good advice) most of those people, you will only ever come across at AnthroCon...many of them, probably only at a single AC...you don't neesd to worry about embarrassing yourself, because you don't know anyone and nobody knows you.
