A little advice for the artists: Do you want to draw better?

"We are made to persist."
We all have things about our art that we would like to see improve. I've gotten a hold of some really crucial resources for making some of those improvements happen.
Until a week or two ago, I had no idea who this was, or that these books even existed, but Andrew Loomis has written some truly amazing books on basic technique. These are things that every artist should know and apply; perspective, proportion, light and shadow, all those fundamentals that are usually really boring to learn and that a lot of artists try to use style to make up for. Take it from me, no amount of style can make up for weak fundamentals.

These books are hard to find in print. They are old, but are by no means outdated. They are easy to understand, and clearly illustrated by the artist himself. I strongly recommend at least having a look at 'Figure Drawing for All It's Worth' and 'Successful Drawing' at a minimum. They're free. Download them and give them a look.

This site gives you access to a number of well drawn illustrations of human anatomy. We're mostly drawing creatures based on that, so knowing which muscles go where is critical to making figures that look right. Give them a look.

I found this tutorial to be extremely helpful in better illustrating facial expression. Maybe you will find it so too.
That's it for now. I've found these resources to be very helpful recently, and I thought I would share them with anyone interested. Have fun!

I love that expression tutorial. I;ve been using for a long time when I can't figure out an expression. I just have trouble translating the expressions to furry facial anatomy XD

You do have to make some adjustments for muzzles and such, but anthros give you some liberty to adjust facial structures n.n

I'm pretty content with my style albeit I do get frustrated from time to time. I'll take a looksee I just usually can't be bothered to studently try to go about it =/

x3 fair enough, fair enough. I still consider them worthwhile reads, even if you don't do the exercises he makes a lot of good points.
