Making Collars and Stuff
So I have new leather working tools, and this is my first creation. What do you guys think?
Its completely hand crafted from tanned leather. It has been dye'd, cut, edged, rounded, riveted, sewn, and felted by me. The custom buckles were ordered pre-powder coated, as I don't have the tools/machine to powder coat items.
I normally use synthetic crystals for all my collars, but for some reason I couldn't get a hold of synthetic Amethyst so I actually have real amethyst crystals in this collar. The pictures do nothing to compliment what they look like in the daylight/lamplight.

So what do you think? Worthwhile? Waste of time? Tell me however, It won't hurt my feelings. I also have been dabbling in nylon works, I've made one so far with a lead, and I didn't like my stitching because my sewing machine is toast. But still turned out nicely.

I like it! The dye is really even and the hold and stones are very evenly spaced. How much did you pay for supplies and how much time put in, do you think you could turn a profit easily?

Actually I'm not too worried about turning a profit, more of a hobby to keep myself busy. I really liked working on it, procrastinated the end hand stitching, but everything else was fun. Start-up costs for everything was a pretty penny, but that's kind of how it goes with hobbies. You have to start somewhere.

Why thank you.. hehe I'm glad you guys think they look good. I'm going to be working on Mine and the Blue Husky's collars next. I'll start taking pics when I have begun, and I also noticed that the two finishing touches on this collar aren't even uploaded, I"ll do that later.

You could probably do without the blue X's once you can substitute them for cooler designs. They look out of place with the jewels, at least in that format.

Blue X? What blue X's?

the black collar in the third image, not the purple one in the rest.
