Before I begin, let me introduce you to Black Mercy, in case you didn't know what it was. http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/Black_Mercy
My pony reference is within the cutie mark episode when all the older ponies are telling their stories.
Specifically when Pinkie-Pie is telling her story.
What if when the sonic rainboom happened (which she didn't see happen because she was inside) she fell and somehow got a black mercy attached to her?
IT WOULD EXPLAIN EVERYTHING!
And the episode where she went kind of crazy, that might have been some kind of medicinal side effect from an outward source trying to remove the Black Mercy.
In closing, it's possible that all of the MLP FiM series is the drugged delusion of a color deprived, depressed pony living on a rock farm.
