RCFM 2011 - Or Really, Lack there of...
RCFM 2011 is now over, but for me really never began. Many have asked me how my con went. Well, it really didn't. When the time came to go to con, I wasn't excited to go at all. In fact, I just really didn't want to go. No this isn't going to turn into an emo rant, It was just too much stress. Too many things I wanted to accomplish.. but I didn't. I couldn't. I failed and made myself sick over it in that failure. For those of you who expected something from me, i apologize. I also apologize if I disappointed anyone else for whatever reason.
I attended opening ceremonies on Friday. We also went to a build-a-bear. The original idea was to go in fursuit, but that sort of fell through for several reasons. That was friday. I went to take a nap after the opening ceremonies and I didn't get out of bed until Saturday night about 11pm. Due my mate, Raven Whitefox, standing over me, very handsome in his dress suit for the formal dance, and doing any and everything he could to make me laugh. I had to get up and get ready. Although I don't 'regret' going to con so much, I am thankful that he got me up that night. We were able to go and do our best at dancing, and he was singing along with "Don't Stop Believing" as we danced, and those moments that seemed so short, really were magical. So I thank him for that.
That really was the end of my con. I didn't go to any other panels or events, unless you count Sunday breakfast as an event. I didn't even bring any suits to this con. I felt it was better. Somehow I knew that i wouldn't want to suit.
But for my friends, I do think they had a good time without me, the con went on, Raven suited, as well as Tristan, Annika, and Kitren. I definitely didn't want to take away from their con experience. I thnk the only mark i left on that con, was some of the magnetic LED graffiti lights that we left in various places. Although we found out that their metal elevators must have been aluminum.. cheapos... because none of the lights would stick.. but we found other places to put them.. on door frames and even on people. We put one on our railing outside of our room, it stayed there for a couple days even.
So Goodbye RCFM 2011.. I won't say I am sorry to see you go.. but I will say i hope that next year, for me, will end up better as I believe that it will.
