They stopped being final after the first sequel. I remember being probably ten, seeing the ad for FF7, having never heard of those games. I was like "holy crap man, this is like the final fantasy ever dude"!

I don't think it refers to final as being last, but Final as in it's the furthest extreme for fantasy you can go to... So basically it's "Let this game take you to beyond"

I think the FF series shouldn't be done away with. It's not like they're all sequels (save for X-2 and 13's sequel apparently). FF games kept me going through my socially shitty jr high school years. I recently started replaying 10 again and all I could do was smile <3

I just want them to bring FFVII up to the standard of its sequels/prequels....

I mean...make it to the standard of the newer VII-related games. Bring us the real scope of the world in the game. The enormous WEAPON monsters...the sheer scale of Midgar itself...all the epic battles.

Actually, I've heard several times through interviews that they plan to keep the franchise going up until the 20th anniversary, upon which, they keep saying they have a big project coming up, but they can't discuss it. If that's not a seven remake, they should just fucking close up shop and be forced to wear "businessly retarded" t shirts. I would buy a PS3 to play it, true. I would shell out however much they wanted, because it was that great of a defining game for me (anyone who hates it, please don't respond to this, I really could not care for your opinion on the matter) and it deserves to be released to the new generation, while giving us oldies the love it deserves. I really want to play it as is, but it's always a "can I stand my eyes bleeding" decision.

I played it a long time ago...and kind of rushed through it...I might try and find another copy to re-play it....but all that text....on a non-hd TV....my eyes!

Also: I watched all the cut scenes for crisis core (don't have or want a PSP)....I legit cried at the end even though I knew what was coming. D8

Hell, I legit cried when Aerith died....and I knew it was coming too. I dunno how bad I'll be bawling when I see that scene re-done. T^T
