Perhaps it is my weird way of looking at things but what was "wrong" with him. he did not look handicapped to me really. just had kinda big ears and a interesting smile

Based on the movement of his eyes and his gait it seems as though he may be mentally deficient in some way, physically handicapped, or at the very least possessing an appearance that most would consider grotesque.

Everyone's an individual, though, so I imagine they could do an extensive series of these.

though i wonder how much of the fear of being around people with disabilities is today at least linked with fear of saying something UnPolitically correct. Personally i try to disarm people with just saying i am a cripple faggot and to get over it

That's certainly one way to deal with it, depending on the demeanor of who you're talking to. It's hard to imagine all the reasons people have for avoiding those with different abilities, but above all it is important that people learn to approach everyone as equal and learn to communicate.
