I find that using a tablet can really enhance your control over a pencil. Try working in a tablet for a month and draw something with a pencil, it helped me a bit .w.

Frankly, I have more control using a pencil than a tablet peb because of the canvas smoothness. I am very used to the rough texture of the paper, the pen would easily 'slide' when I draw creating very fast lines instead of the sketchy ones and this also makes my line wobbly.

The problem I really have is the canvas smoothness, seeing it on a monitor and not on the tablet and digital pressure/sensitivity.
