Wireless router help and Nintendo WiFi! Please Help

Okay so my family recently got a Belkin Wireless 300 router. Now this is awesome because we can now have wireless in my house but it isn't amazing right now. I have tried connecting my DS to it so I can play pokemon on wi-fi and to battle and such but I can't seem to get it to connect unless I change the settings. The thing is that I'm having a bit of trouble with this part and it's frustrating me so much.
So if there is someone out there who can help me I'd really appreciate it.

turn it back on. boot up pokemon, but DO NOT open your save file. there should be a option on the menu for your save file for "Nintendo Wifi Connection"
a box will pop up asking for a username/password
enter in "admin" and then "password"
this should get you into your routers preferences

if the above doestn work (note the first one should also have // infront
But.. if you have a ds older than the dsi, it won't work with pretty much any kind of new encryption. You -have- to use plain old WEP.
