HOLY CRAP! RAPTURE RAPTURE! Or well maybe no rapture, but still nutty weather. Hobbles and I were at our new place taking some stuff over when it started to rain a bit, all of a sudden out of no where we here wind whistling over the house and then a few plink plink's, then alot of plink plink's, then it was like a sandblast of river rocks. We thought a tornado was gonna land, but there was no siren. So we go look out front and the fuckin yard is white'd out with hail. We kept thinking it was over but it just kept getting worse and worse, there was a fricken ice-flow goin down our street! An iceflow down a norman street in June! I mean...if thats not a sign of the apocalypse I don't know what is.
So far our new house is pretty much in tact, minus a few shingles and a fence panel. However our old house was crazy looking when we got back to it. Soon as we turned onto our street it was like a scene from Twister. There were multiple down'd powerlines, more than half of the tree's on our street were now in the road, 12"+ water flowing down the street. We were zig zagging passed down powerlines and tree's when we started getting close to our house and our GIANT oak tree that was in our yard was literally IN OUR YARD! I thought my little miata was squished but luckily hobbles parked it close enough to the house. When we pulled up on the house I suddenly thought "OH god zora and suger!" (my furry children that live in the yard). I ran back yelling there names, and I saw the kennel we built for them. It was completely caved in and mangled like a car had slammed into it. But thankfully they came running over okay. course they were totally freaked out and there hair was all standing on end like they had gone through a monsoon of giant ice balls.
So..minus a kennel, our yard, a twin bed that was on our porch to be moved and a fence panel and a few shingles. I think we made it out okay. The east side of norman is a straight up disaster area now though, so driving through it is a bit dodgy.
I got quite a bit of video and I'll be posting it up to my youtube soon as i get it off my phone and tons of pics I'll upload them sometime tonight or tomorrow.
*wrings out tail* gonna take ages for my fur to dry out...

But woof, glad you guys averted disaster. It killed your bed but not your puppies, that's a hell of a trade off but a decent one in the end!
It's fun to get a freak hail storm in the middle of summer and suddenly and temporarily, have a white yard, it's trippy hehe. Granted they aren't all damaging like the ones you guys got. How'd your car do? It avoided the tree but what about the hail?
