If you see a swarm of very small ships, get the hell out.

I used to play. Recently unsubscribed.

1) Use EVEMon for skill training/planning, Use EVE Fitting Tool to help you create and analyze ship fittings.
2) If you aren't patient, develop that ability. Everything takes a long time to do in this game.
3) Find a Corporation that supports _NEW_ players that is decently active and join it. They're a lot of things to learn and a lot of things you can't come by without the assistance of a corporation.
4) DO NOT USE WHAT YOU CANNOT AFFORD TO REPLACE. (seriously)

I'd play again if I had much more time on my hands.

Playing EVE generally requires you to be able to regularly sign in at predictable times so that you and your corporation can coordinate.

I've had my account for a long time. My main character is at around 36-37 million skill points. I can use most of the ships in the game except capital ships and other special ship classes.

I've been playing for almost 2 years and living in nullsec for most of that time, and this is all good advice.

One thing to mention: You're going to have to trust some group of people (your corp, and I don't mean an NPC corp like the one you just started in), but generally you should assume everyone has a plan to screw you over.

There are also a couple in-game furry channels you might want to join: "Furry" and "Eve Furs".
