i agree croc besides in the very early issues when they do time skips to the future you see Sally is alive and married to sonic so no way they will mess with the time stream.

I'ma thinking that the writers will pull out the very original idea of "It was all a dream" or some bullshit like that.

If she was dead, they wouldn't have ended it on an "OMG IS SHE DEAD!?" cliffhanger. They would have made it completely clear to the reader she was dead. Puddle of blood, crying Sonic, gloating Robotnik for a page, then perhaps a splash page of Sonic standing up in rage and swearing vengance. The cliffhanger would have been "How is Sonic going to get revenge for this?"

Can anyone think of a time an "Are they dead?" cliffhanger came back from a hiatus to find out that erm...yup they're dead? I can think of maybe one time in all my experience. It just doesn't work, you drop the suspense as soon as the episode comes back. "Right, time to tune in...waited 5 months to find out if they lived. Oh, they died........well that was anticlimactic, I wonder what's on the other channel?"

Besides that, I doubt Sega or Archie would have the balls to kill off Sally like that. She's too well established in the series.

Series 12 of 'London's Burning' ended on a cliffhanger with four firefighters caught in an explosion. The episode ended with the camera panning over their lifeless bodies. When Series 13 started we found out that two of them died and one of the survivors had left the brigade. Sure, had to wait the best part of 8 months to find out, but a lot of people were upset that one of the characters that was killed off was one of two remaining cast members that had been with the show at the beginning, and he was one of the popular characters, and the fact that after a couple of episodes, he was never mentioned again.

Point? Don't kill off popular characters with a cliffhanger, making people wait an extended period to see if said character survived, only to go "Oh yeah, they dead!" and then never speak of them again.

Frankly, I wouldn't put it past the writers to go any number of directions, especially after how they handled the Iron Queen and the various plots in the more recent work. Like mentioned above, they could go for the typical comic book theme of killing off characters only to have them come back, just as they could go the route of having a whole House of M situation go off with the upcoming plotline only to have someone realize its not 'real' and fix things. At best, it should at least be amusing to see how they pull off the result, but I'm not expecting anything that would win awards for story.

I don't doubt it, but I think the most important thing is for Sonic to be affected by this event.Eggman's not the same anymore and Sonic has to realize he can't keep treating him the same way.He let Sonic play around with an Metal Sonic to distract him while he fired the laser, Sonic has to learn that Eggman can and has(right then) played him! He knew exactly what Sonic would do and took advantage of that! Sonic's going to have to up his game, Eggman has, Scourge very likely is soon, and then there's Finitevus whom Sonic has hardly interacted with at all.It's time for Sonic to step up his game, he doesn't have much of a choice at this point.

Hah, She's not dead, it's going to take more then a few bullets to kill her off, she's worse then Dracula from the Castlevania series in that regard, no, she's gotten shot because it'll give the artists a chance to milk the Sonic Sally romance for all it's worth as every other plot thread and unanswered queestions gets swept away.

Yup, I see a whole year if not two years of comics, filled from page to page in every issue of Sonic wangsting over poor hurt Sally while an entire army of more interesting characters are left to collect dust while the sonsal issue once again takes over the comic full time.

As a former reader of the comics, I highly, HIGHLY doubt that they'll kill Sally, unless they're begging for death threats. And if they DO kill her off it'll do nothing but make the SonAmy fantards scream with joy and blow it all in everyone else's faces. What pisses me off is the fact that Sonic and Sally got back together. I =HATE= that pairing as much as SonAmy. I kinda wish that Archie would make Sonic so heartbroken he switches to guys
