My rat Dar is showing signs of what took his brother Loki. We're taking him to the vet on Monday, but this is likely to turn into an expensive trip as I am going to INSIST on cultures being done this time around to find out if it's something like CAR Bacillus, so that we can find the proper treatment. In addition, there's likely to be a great deal of ongoing care as it takes at least three weeks to completely recover from a myco flare up, and the vet will want to see them again for a followup, and possibly again after that. Loki didn't respond to Baytril/Enrofloxacin, but I hope it was just because his immune system was already so compromised being inbred, and that Dar won't have the same problem... if he does respond to the Baytril then we may be able to trim the number of vet visits this is going to take.

Point being, we're going to be pretty strapped. (Yeah, you know it's coming..) So if anyone has been wanting to commission me, now would be the time to. (yep, there it is.) I can do maille necklaces and bracelets with what I have here, for bigger things like belts and custom hackey sacks I'll probably need to order out for materials, but I can make those too.
