What are the Symptoms and such?

Well, the woman I'm talking about suffers from delusions and from paranoia. She tells stories about my mother that never happened like, that my mother burned some family heirlooms. She thinks that the women in our family are witches and sees things in people--such as they have a certain number of halos or tales, which only she can see--and thinks that they tell something about the person. All of this she does a very good job of keeping under raps. She can see quite clearly the effect that this has on people when she talks about it, so she does a good job of keeping it down, but you'll start to hear it spill over if you talk to her long enough. She'll say or do something that doesn't quite add up, and the tricky part is that most of the stuff is stuff that could be true and usually has a hint of mystery or conspiracy around it--like the thing about my mother destroying heirlooms. It's something that--in another universe--could be true, but seems both out of character for my mother, which makes it rather mysterious.

Another schizophrenic I knew was all into the Bible and religion and thought that there were hidden messages in the Bible that spoke of a lot of things, and then made a lot of connections between things both in the Bible, real life, and a huge series of unrelated events. The colours of things had to do with their properties, and he could then go on and make inferences as to how things worked by reading the colours that people wore or the colours that things are naturally.

Yeah.
Mainly schizophrenic people see patterns in things that normally other people overlook or hear voices. There are more latent symptoms like paranoia or asociality. They tend to be outliers, i.e. really smart or really dumb (If you've ever seen A Beautiful Mind then you know what i'm talking about. If you have an IQ over 120 and you're a young male adult it puts you more at risk too, along with a family history of mental illnesses like depression and such.
