So lately I've been getting bothered by spam bots on AIM. Mostly they come in two categories. Either they instantaneously tell me to check my car insurance record at whatever stupid website, or they pretend to be a hot girl, who then tries to coerce me into watching "her" on a live webcam. I like to humour them for a few lines, determine if it's a real person or not, and then have some fun before I report the user for spamming. This most recent one, which popped up immediately after I was discussing the plot of Alice: Madness Returns with a friend, was quite entertaining to me.

The Great Ritual is my equivalent to those scrambled letters you have to enter when you sign up with a website. If they aren't terribly confused and/or weirded out, it's a robot. They aren't terribly smart, won't react to anything specific you say (got a friend who incorporates the words "I'm gay" into every response, and they still ask him to look at their boobs). They do, however, simulate the typing delay of a real person, with the "<name> is typing" message at the bottom of the AIM window, so that's kind of impressive, I guess. I just wish they weren't using it to try to swindle me into looking at crappy porn.
EDIT: By the way, Fraps is the name of the program I use to make my Let's Play videos: they record whatever image is currently on screen, so... eh, you get the idea.
