I like how the very last paragraph, the quote by one of the 2 voting to allow, says that minors shouldn't be allowed to access such "forms of speech" without the parents. So even then she partially agrees. It's not the ban she wants, its the parents' filtering.

seriously, everywhere I go, I see unruly little stubborn rude brats... when I was a kid, I got a damn good education and learned my place to, and not to do particular things.
same would apply to these children playing anything that the tag says is for older ages...

hell, the other day while playing L4D2, I heard a kid playing it and one of the players felt bad for using the F word with him XD

I sort of blame society for making the parents the way they are now. I was spanked as a child and it wasn't "abuse'' as society thinks these days. (Though I do agree that some parents take it too far.) Pain is a VERY good motivator for changing ones habits and bad communication between the parents is another thing that is making kids the way they are today. It is NOT the games!

yeah this has been going on for the better side of a few months and even some other states tried something of the sort but nothing can be passed. The ESRB made it clear that kids are only getting these gorey and violent video games /from their parent/ because all retailers must verify id before giving anyone under the age of 18 a game. The went on to say that if the parents would look on the back of the box or listen to the employee that they would know all the content in the game. They basically stood back crossed their arms and said "Look dude, not our fault parents are getting these games then raging when they see whats in them. Ya'll are screwin yourselves on this one."

So, it means that soon kids will be able to buy alchool, smoke, and watch violent movies if their parents aren't around to tell them no?
While I do think parents should do their job, ratings should still be protected under law. Just like rated movies where minors are forbiden to watch.
