The truth may come in clever disguises...
Ahh Kansas...flat to the point of surreal, yet beautiful none the less~if your into the whole minimalist movement...but I digress.
Central Plains Fur Meet 2011..with an attendance of 30+ we did have a well occupied camping area, be it semi private non the less. Our pavilion was home to the showers and restrooms after all, so we really could not complain about the occasional visitor. Nice trees and grass covered tent areas were in abundance, plenty of room for privacy yet with a real communal scene.
Enough can not be spoken about the preparation done by the founders of this event. Dale Fox and his companion Tiger Merkindesser worked tirelessly up until the final hour to make this micro-con a rousing success.Every aspect from the surround sound to the food meticulously thought out and executed to the letter and beyond in this Coyotes opinion.
Even aspects from the inaugural year were improved upon. Clear directions to the camp sight and homemade metal signs marking the roads for out of town visitors were just another example of the care given to this event.
As for the food...the word "Bounty" comes to mind here. For the mere cost of ten dollars per head, a spread was presented that has rivaled any con I have attended in the past four years. This even included all the "invisible" costs of items not consumed ie;plates napkins plastic wear cups condiments etc.
Admittedly, this is easy to accomplish on a small scale such as ours, but the worry of disappointment always looms in the mind of the providers.
If there was a downside to the weekend, it would have to be the unbearable heat and wind often gusting to around 30 during Friday night.
102 with indices of 108 plus made the lake a welcome companion indeed.
But at night, it was quite pleasant sleeping weather with a quiet time respected by "most" of the other campers.
My guided meditation was well attended/experienced by around 15 or so, i tend to not count.
So all in all, our alternative to AC was fun and a much needed break from my routine. New friends were made and old ones reunited with,no major injuries, zero drama and good times all around. Next year will only be better and bigger for us...ever forward.

FA+

There were other people too of course, I specifically saw you for a moment in an elevator
Dreams are so strange and wonderful.
I think we should start throwing ideas around soon for next year so that we can have a major head start next time. I really kinda stressed out pulling this off with only a month of planning.
I think one of the best part is that we actually pulled off a 100% drama free furry meet-up. ...that's rare. O.O
Also, thank you again for doing the guided meditation. I was pleasantly suprised that we had like half the attendees show for that.
And as always, we enjoyed having you and the family up to visit, and you are always welcome here.
Thanks for the fursuiting tips. Will for sure do some shopping this weekend.
~To the future, onward
