Ahem, sorry about that.
Well then, let's see if I can make coherent sentences.
Getting to the con was a bit of a trial; a lot of my packing did not go smoothly (and my roughly 1 year old chair broke, ugh, i thought i paid a decent price for some quality too) and like many other people my flights and connections got delayed all over the place due to weather. I could actually complain a lot more about various little things that went bad but I think after experiencing air travel for over 2 decades now, it really is just a matter of "These things happen." even if we all wish things could go smoother. My sign-holder did get a few new cracks in it that I wasn't pleased about...guess I'll have to try and pack it better next time.
So I did arrive the same time as everyone else thanks to delays, which was amusing to say the least, if a little more hectic (and that set the tone/pace of most of the con). I called dibs on the writing desk before I realised
kelmar didn't have his lapdesk this year.Sorry dude.: U
sethtriggs did so much driving I'm surprised his feet didn't turn into pedals.
After a nonsensical Musical Beds session, sleep was had.
The rest of the con is a bit of a blur. I believe Thursday involved delicious sushi and some comic books; but none that I was looking for in particular (ah well, maybe next year!).
Then on Friday, oh my goodness, what a cluster!I've never seen a table so busy on a FRIDAY. I'm glad I managed to say hello to
shoulung early because, dang! It was my first time sitting with Illuminated Artists (
Damaris ) so I got a bit confused over the process and accidentally took on more commissions than I should've because I lost count very quickly. x.x;
I spent as much time working on the sketchbooks as I could before passing out; I don't know if it was my sore wrist or stamina worsening but I don't feel i got all that much done as I should've and I felt completely con-cruddy on Saturday so I stayed until the people who reserved got hold of me and bailed for a bit (which turned into a nightmarish nap that wasn't the least bit refreshing so I ended up not returning to the Dealer's Den...sorry! D:).
I pretty much stayed in all evening working on stuff. Thankfully I'm not all that social; so an evening in isn't the hugest deal. Still ended up staying up until sunrise to try and get things done.
Sunday ended up being a bit bumpy; since I'd already been handed the sketchbook of my Sunday reserve on Friday... I had decided to just stay in until I finished everything; but then there was some panic and chaos because apparently some folks were angry I had their sketchbooks still and my managers thought I was slacking off in the Zoo due to some miscommunication so i ended up scrambling around to get ready to get to the den only to find out I had not in fact gotten the sketchbooks in question and they wanted to GIVE me their sketchbooks. Ah well, it was irresponsible of me to not be at the table when I stated I would be, so took on a few more commissions and got back to work. In the end I did more or less accept the number of commissions I said I would...but I think next year I'll aim to take on a little less...not sure if I'll do away with reservations yet, but I have a year to decide, right?
Managed to sell one pic in the artshow and I hear it's heading to Australia with an encumbered traveller; thanks whoever you are!
I actually was gunna bid on something myself but I missed my chance; I will read the rules better for next time.
mowser and
spooks appeared out of the tall grass to check on us regularly,
bradypodidae spoiled the heck out of me and
missmab,
Nyil was very asian (asian-five!) and got saddled with SO MANY PONIES,
raiettei's speakers which I destroyed with the power of my awesome voice rattled pleasantly and will get mounted as soon as I find the perfect plaque for it, there was a brief hello and hug with
drakefenwick,
slutpuppy EVENTUALLY got me a damned Snickers™ bar, and I accidentally stole
ews's sketchbook. D8 (cleared that up though)
So thanks and/or sorry to everyone mentioned, including anyone I may have not named/linked due to me still feeling a bit under the weather or some of u not having FA icons, you guys know who you are (especially you, you spider-loving curly hug monster : |).
Upon returning home it would seem my cat forgot who the hell I am and was hissing, puffing and yowling at me most of the evening, but she finally seems to have remembered me now. Also, ants, why the hell are there so many ants? There weren't this many ants when I left! D8
Why are most of them on my work space?!
Welp, back to the grind, laundry needs to be done, dishes need to be dealt with and husband need to be cooked for. I'll get back to art once I'd managed to clear up some put-off/built up chores and gotten a bit more rest to try and keep this concrud from developing into anything annoying and art-preventative. Got commissions to do and projects to start and a new website that needs more content.
tl;dr
Was a nice con.I hung out with a lot more people than usual, made not as much $$$ as I'd've liked, did not complete nearly enough art or get nearly enough sleep. Thank you to anyone who came by to say hello, stopped to check out my art, helped out/brought me food/kept me hydrated, commissioned me, bought my CD, shoved food in me, kept me company, weathered my wobbler, dragged me out to Meatopia, drew in my sketchbook and was patient with my derfiness.
Now back to day to day chores, then back to art I owe, etc.

Thanks very much again for the commish. I know it was a tough time for you. I hope you can rest your wrists. :)
I'll scan all the one's you've done and send you good scans if you wish.
Pepe K.
Be all that as it may however, you can count me among those pleased to hear of the pleasantries of your trip, and I wish you many more meeting with similar success if not to a greater degree of some magnitude.
OMFG, ANTS?!?!
Wish i hung out with ya more. Maybe next time =3
As for the ants, if you know where they're coming in from (such as where the wall meets the floor) you can take some liquid hand soap and squirt it along the crack (just the area you saw them, you don't have to do the whole wall)
This will mask the ant's sent trail and be like sap in that any ants that try to dig through get stuck. Also it's animal safe so you don't have to worry about the cat getting into it.
