foreskin - haters gonna hate
It may or may not be news to you that I'm a fan of the intact penis, and think that circumcision is the worst bullshit anyone ever thought of. Thankfully it occurs next to never in Europe where I live, but I am sad to see all the stupid arguments for it. Because while we don't really discuss it in Europe (duh, foreskin is just another part of man), going on the internet I can't avoid seeing it. Such as "amputating penis skin reduces your risk of catching HIV by 60%" from one old study whose results were not reproduce-able. And this just in;
How the circumcision solution in Africa will increase HIV infections <--- your tax dollars go here.
I know someone has previously criticized me for linking non-neutral sources for facts about the problems with circumcision (even if they were flat facts), but here's a neutral source.
Everytime I see someone say "hurrdurr foreskin is some evolutionary remnant so useless" etc, I cry inside and I want to stab someone in the balls. But it's pretty hard to argue about with these people, they gloss over reason and logic - foreskin is seen as the anomaly, and as "weird"
Here's what I mean:
How to write about circumcision - every circumcision article ever is like this. Go read it, no matter which side you are on, it's funny.
Please don't post comments like "but my parents cut me so I can't help being cut" (yes people have said this), because I am not judging anyone on that - as well as anything else described in the last article. It's why I don't want to argue circumcision anymore.
I would rather think about delicious penis.

HA.
Yeah- that write-up about every circumcision article ever is truly a thing of beauty. It's amazing how people use the same uninformed arguments time and time again to 'refute' their point of view. It's more like they're reassuring themselves, rather than convincing others, because a dose of reality would just turn their world upside down and their comfortable lives would be shattered. Hence, rampant ignorance is bliss. I like it when you make journals like this- especially since I see your penis ref EVERYWHERE with comments on how you called a circumcised cock 'flayed'.
So..."if God didn't want you to have foreskin he wouldn't of made you that way" hmm?
If I had a son instead of daughters, I wouldn't of had him circumcised. My husband is Lithuanian and not circumcised, and I definitely prefer foreskin > non-foreskin. If we haven't evolved to not have foreskin yet, apparently its not a bad thing for us to have ("us" as in human beings)
Given that the circumcision occurrence in Lithuania is 0.19% he would have no reason to even consider doing it ;o but that's hte other side of it, for us where it is uncommon we may not think about the fact that it is dangerous, and that it happens - it could happen to his kid, basically. Good thing you've made a decision first!
i remember a Scrubs episode where a kid Has phimosis and daily masturbation is give as the cure.
though yeah .. maybe this falls on common sense....
excercises muscles, sleep aid, pain killer albeit temporary, releases stress, and keeps stuff from getting too tender to wear good underwear
cut cut
"Now he's perfecter!"
Oh man, yes, I had a model like that too, I was completely surprised... so I sort of can't say I fault her, actually :O
Some lady asked what was wrong with him, and I was confused FOREVER until she finally pointed, and I realized she was talking about his junk.
However sometimes for health purposes its better but for religious reasons...eh...do what you want.
Been around the world and you should see how odd it is to have it done, and in some cultures its something to be proud of.
I know when I lived in Japan the guys would flaunt off their circ penises because it "makes you a man" and "desirable by ladies" in which it does there. Heck the foreskin is known to them as "barbaric" so in sauna's they pull it up so it isnt seen, and considered respectful.
Just depends where you live I guess
This however... this really is quite intriguing~!
How about let's just not touch any baby's genitals unless medically necessary. How about that. Let's just stop touching babies penises and vaginas and putting any sort of sharpened metal to them when nature does not explicitly call for the need.
People can decide later if they want to be circumcised. If they think it's too much pain at that point well it must not be all THAT important then, huh?
Of course I wonder how many people who think it's "painless" for the infant has /seen videos of it happening/. I know I have and those babies don't look like they're in any sort of "painless" state to me. =D Too young to be traumatized in functional memory does not equal PAINLESS.
And yeah, if it was just a little piece of skin why is it such a big deal to cut it, huh huh huh? Yeah, it's extreme callous.
Bah, "medically necessary" proves a slippery slope too, considering all the poor intersexed babies who get surgery and it's still really only in an attempt to "appear like everyone else" and (99% of the time) not for some sort of physical benefit for the person.
Some have argued babies actually are traumatized and remember the pain. I don't remember the article/statistic, but mutilated baby boys did seem to behave differently than intact ones, at first they wont breastfeed and later they have a different pain response and are more fussy.
Also, let me go on record as saying that it SUCKS to like foreskin in the US! Ahhh! I had to import the one foreskin I had ever seen [he was Dutch, I'm sure he'd like to see me having said this! lol].
Yeah, I don't have anything else to add... I think perceived social reasons like the locker room thing (or traditional reasons) overpower scientific facts for quite a lot of parents.
Wow :/ I guess you live in one of the worst places, I didn't see a 100% rate anywhere in the US but I know some states have it close.
I made fun of gays actively trying to get HIV once and it didn't sit well with a lot of people. So yeah we are supposed to have respect for people who actively screw themselves over
:V
Hehehehe! Now you too can be a cheeky blogger!
but seriously. Genital mutilation. I wont go around advocating snipping off the labia because its more sanitatary or whatever. dunno, pretty sure circumcision is a remnant of religious practice.
Yes, something like that I believe. It's not justifiable so only nonsense like that remains in defence. AND now it's also been fucking up the AIDS battle, good job.
