General
Well a pleasant day indeed this morning woke up and found up I got the "The system has detected one or more problems...." virus on my art computer. Yippy !! funny how the might before I ran my computers anti-virus program and got a clean bill.
I have many fours since five this morning about reeding of the virus but I have to say I have no idea how to even do it when the affected computer is the only I have.
Please I'm not a windows person could I have some pointers on the matter... And may dad going to kill me ... He kept saying he had no idea how to fix the pc if it got infected, so don't get it. Peachy....
So I don't understand much with ITing so I'm just going to take it a local computer shop and hope they will fix it for me. Ya I have to pay for a service that can be done for free but that is no problem for me I rather get it done right then mess things up with my fumblings. Thanks to those who gave me input in the matter, but I rather have it done by someone who at least knows what to do .

As Usaden said, try a mix of anti virus programs till you get one that can quarinteen or remove the virus.
(a virus is the product of an infected file, if you remove a virus, the infected file spawns the virus again, thats why most times you run an anti virus checker it will "quarinteen" the virus rather than remove it, by doing so, it seals off the virus so that it can do no harm, and prevents the infected file from spawning the virus again)
Atleast thats how a knowlegable IT college lecturer explained it to me.
Best of luck hun *nuzzles*
TAking it to the shop in town to get it fix -- I hope, thanks for the help though

Sorry ^^;
Do a quick scan.
Then do a fulll scan.
Then install Avast after alll your PC is clean.
Thanks for the confirmation intel
I'm CISCO and IT essentials D: I'm supposed to be paid to fix PCs :<
and it clean i hope my dad actually did XD, now just for a hard scrubbing
If it's a popup trying to trick you into dling or buying crap, usually you can plug the name into google and it'll come up with removal instructions, they usually revolve around using safe mode to deactivate it and specifically removing the malware program itself
If it's cutting off your access to programs, the above will probably work, start your pc in safe-mode and hunt through the folders for a suspiciously named file and delete it
Have you tried a system restore? (use the help & support button in your start menu for how to restore and safemode)
If you do end up taking it to the shop, make sure you shop around a bit. When mine broke one option was to go to PC World and pay £200 for them to 'Look' at it, then I'd have to pay extras for anything they actually did. After a little hunting I found a corner shop that looked at it for £20, fixed it straight away if the total cost came to less than £50 and rang me to get an ok first if it would have cost more than £50.
Hope you fix it, and I'm still glad you've got your health
its a spybot on your pc, built by some third party company to trick you on getting the program, the moment it starts to "scan" your pc it's too late... you need to wipe your harddrive since your original anti-virus will absolutely not work as this malware anti-virus damages that program...
then get Avast! do the same thing put windows in safe mode so the program can search deeper in the system also takes less time!
this is how we take care of PC at were i work in the computer lab
