Hello FurAffinity,
Where have I been all week? Let me tell you about the exciting life of an industrial hygiene technician.
Monday, July 4
Holiday; no work
Tuesday, July 5
6 AM – 2 PM: Project at a school in Dumfries, VA
Go home, sleep, eat
11 PM – 2 AM: Project at a building in downtown DC
Drive to Dumfries
11 hours
Wednesday, July 6
3:30 AM – 2 PM: Project at a school in Dumfries, VA
Go home, shower, sleep, eat
8 PM to 2:30 AM: Project at a different building in downtown DC
Drive to Dumfries
At about this point I had no idea what day it was
17 hours
Thursday, July 7
3:30 AM – 2 PM: Project at a school in Dumfries, VA
At about this point I had passed through tired into the wakefulness on the other side
Go home, sleep, eat
8 PM – 6:30 AM: Project at the second building in downtown DC
21 hours
Friday, July 8
Go home, shower, post this, sleep
Fortunately, they do not need me in Dumfries today
Total: 49 hours in 4 days
This is what happens when we unexpectedly find ourselves a man down in the middle of our busiest season. I have to laugh, because otherwise I’d cry.
I will be spending this weekend sleeping, attempting to reset my internal clock, and not answering the phone when my boss calls.
Industriously yours,
Kinto
Footnote: Dumfries is 30 miles from downtown DC

I spoke too soon. I suck at not answering the phone when my boss calls. They need me back downtown tonight.
