Thing is though, most of Japan isn't even powered by Nuclear power and yet somehow the rest of the country seem to be fine using alternate means. Nuclear energy even now isn't the be-all and end-all of everything

one nuclear power plant provides more power than all of the solar collection facilities, wind, and geo-thermal plants combined.
Half of Wisconsins' power needs are supplied by hydro, the other half nuclear.

Americas WORST nuclear disaster, three mile island, did not leak even One Stray wave of atomic radiation outside of the reactor.

I don't care that they operate I think they shouldn't be there in the first place. Even if they work fine the amount of toxic waste the produce is reason enough that they are plan and simply a bad idea. I know my facts before I said this, and the fact remains that most of Japan isn't even powered by the reactors and then you can have other major City's in the world that work just fine without them. I life in Melbourne, Australia's second biggest city and we run just fine without them.....so if you wanna look your facts up their is plenty to support why they aren't needed at all.

I detest ignorance in all of it's forms. without nuclear power we wouldn't have x-ray machines, cat scans, MRI's, and a lot of other life saving and time saving devices.

I never said anything about the medical properties of Nuclear power such as "x-ray machines, cat scans, MRI's" you listed, I just think having Nuclear reactors powering large areas is a bad idea.....if you wanna shoot your mouth off at me then at the very least do so over then things I actually said rather then running your mouth off before you even got facts straight.

X-rays, MRI's and such are a direct result of nuclear technology. you cannot have one without the other.

as far as nuclear power is concerned, it is a thousand times SAFER than then next nearest viable fuel, Coal.
do you know how many coal fires there have been in the last hundred years? how many people have died in coal mines? what coal dust does the the lungs of the people that actually dig the coal?

I often wondered why people live in dangerous places like Australia, Japan or Indonesia.

Then I visited and realised they're really nice places to live - like, seriously. Indonesia? You want food? Oh shit son, the road's lined with banana trees and papaya bushes.
