I used to have this one on tape years ago, I love it.
The digs at 60s-70s era Hannah-Barbera are pretty dang funny.

actually, if you're talking about the one that comes after the "B/w Disney era"-looking one, I think that may be based off Fleischer, but I could be wrong

Huh, I always figured it was HB, although UPA makes sense too.
I guess you could see it as poking fun at hyper-limited animation in general.

I had heard of this before, but never seen it. It was definitely not what I expected, but in a good way! I am so glad I got to see this, finally. It was like... watching the history of animation. How freaking clever!

yeah, I was flipping through this giant Tezuka book at Borders and came across a picture of the squirrels and went "I NEED TO SEE THIS" and it was better than I imagined

I have the DVD with that! Some of the other shorts are also really good. I'm kinda sad we'll never see the fully intended version of Legend of the Forest. Just the two parts that were completed.
