Not sure if I want to try their... network thingy, though... Considering I hate Myspace and Facebook, and refuse to join Twitter.

You need to understand, I'm totally with you. The only differing point is, I actually did join twitter, and I still hate it/see no use for it. The Google+ thing seems like it might actually have some possibilities.

It was basically just a twitter rip off combined into your email account. Seemed like a pretty pointless me2 kind of thing. They also had a string of other services like this including wave and okurt that never really caught fire.

Google+ on the other hand already has a lot more useful features then any of those last ones combined. And if it doesn't impress you yet there is a lot more to come because the whole company retooled, shifted focus and probably has most of their wealth invested into this project. This project is intended to be the next Google Search, Email or Youtube. It's now their top priority to take on the social networking market-space so its very unlikely this product will stagnate, whither from lack of updates and changes *cough* FA/livejournal *cough* and remain competitive, useful and feature rich well into the future.
