I was just looking at a preview book for Aspen Comics. All these independent publishers look the same. All the covers look the same. All the characters look the same. Every page looks the same. Every PANEL looks the same. Nothing about them interests me even a little.

That reminds me of a few journals I see here on FA. Every time it is a rant about how nobody reads his journal because no one ever replies or some such nonsense about how he is going to leave FA and delete all his work. Much like those journals you need to make a comic interesting or no one is going to buy it.
