...and the dessert was pie a la depeche mode

I just got back from having dinner with my mom at the IHOP here in Saugus. Being the music whore that I am, whenever I go out to a restaurant I can't help but tune in to whatever music they're playing, whether I like it or not. Tonight this was to my advantage. IHOP was rocking the '80s tunes the whole time we were there. Yeah, I had to sit through a couple of could've-done-withouts (Kool & the Gang's "Celebration", Kenny Loggins' "Footloose"), but those were far outweighed by cool songs like the Cure's "Inbetween Days", Talk Talk's "It's My Life", Duran Duran's "A View To A Kill", Eurythmics' "Here Comes The Rain Again", Depeche Mode's "People Are People", After The Fire's "Der Kommissar", Aztec Camera's "Oblivious", Thompson Twins' "In The Name Of Love", the Power Station's "Bang A Gong (Get It On)", and the Police's "Hungry For You" (this one was a real surprise-- so cool that they played an album track instead of one of the more obvious choices). Needless to say, I was pleased, and was in no hurry to finish my meal lol.
Anybody want to go back there for a Rooty Tooty Fresh 'n Fruity with a side of Kajagoogoo? :P
