Today and yesterday I hung out with friends I've made in college...I felt completely accepted, and I didn't get ignored or anything....Nobody asked why they were friends with me in front of me...Nobody acted like I was a complete weirdo, or acted like I should act any different than I normally do...Nobody made fun of me...We had a great time doing things, ranging from getting pizza to playing videogames and seeing Harry Potter again...

i guess it's because the people who are taking the courses with you have the same, or really close to, interests and goals.
granted there are still a few who like to play the elitist but it's not as bad, in my opinion.
