thoughts on music

I was listening to some of my music and was thinking about what music is to me, and what it is to other people. for others, people seem mostly interested in the instruments, the beat, and the genre. for me, I like the words and the underlying meaning of the song. for this reason I don't care for most popular music. I remember when I was young the popular music was at least somewhat good, and listening to what was popular a long time ago, the songs were even better. I know that it's said a lot, but out music is going downhill fast. with the music industry, I wonder if it's the people's taste in music that has gone down, or if the industry is holding back the good music, of even if pirating is causing the good music to appear lower in popularity then it really is. in any case, next time you listen to a song you like, look up the lyrics if you don't know them and think about what the song is actually saying. you might be surprised at what you are listening to.
just some morning thoughts that I decided to type out.

I have a lot of music in my collection specifically for the lyrics. A lot of people think I'm crazy for that, since most of the time they don't like the sound of the music itself. Kinda shallow of them, but whatever it's my music.
