Motherboard/CPU: Asus M4A88T-V / AMD Phenom II 1090T $306
RAM: Patriot G2 Series (2 x 4GB) $55
Graphics Card: XFX HD-699A-ENF9 Radeon HD 6990 $705
Hard Drive: 1TB Seagate $50
Case: Azza CSAZ-1000 Solano $120
Power Supply: CoolerMaster 1000W $150
Total: $1386
and if you're willing to skip out on a cool looking case, you could probably save $70 bucks there, and the power supply is probably a bit over powered, so you could cut it down to an 850w or a 600w and save another $20 bucks

The Radeon HD 6850 outperformed the Nvidia 550 Ti on Arma II: Operation Arrowhead, and on Bad Company 2, they were nearly matched.
Radeon HD 6850:
Performance 7/10
Features 8/10
Value 9/10
Overall 8/10
Nvidia GTX 550 Ti:
Performance 5/10

All that said go with the one that's cheaper :P I really can't see them being so different that someone who just wants to game will notice too much difference. My current card is a Nvidia GeForce 8600GTS and it works perfectly fine for everything I've put my computer through and its at least 2 years old atm when I got it used.
The drivers suck sometimes, but it's a solid piece of hardware.
Thanks for the input Trevor =D
Thanks for he personal life experience =D
