I grinned, then wanted to do some serious hurt to the article-writer over his ADHD comment at the end. Fuck you, mister, you obviously have no fucking clue what ADHD does to a person's brain. We're not stupid, or lazy, nor do we want "accommodations" that are unreasonable. Jeez. And the comments below... ARRRGH- a cesspool of asshattery... Like the turd who called ADHD folk "blindingly stupid"... Let's just put up a screen in front of his eyes so he can't see anything straight, slow down his reaction-time, distract him with loud sirens so he can't think, all while telling him he's stupid, worthless and a loser for actually reacting to all of that and we'll see how long HE lasts, since that's what I effectively have to live with every fucking day and I can still function. Pfft! No blame on you, hon- it was the author who needed an education about ADHD and the problems it throws at someone. It's simply a failure in recognizing and accepting disabilities and differences- bigotry, plain and simple. It was in the last couple of paragraphs, if I recall aright... Yeah, steamed me RIGHT up. But, it was the fuckwads who agreed with it that really riled me. OY. *grrrrrowls*

Erm... with the many hours it can take for you to go through labour until the baby finally arrives I can totally understand that woman. Though I don't like my sister much, she tried to give birth at home thrice and went through 72 hours of labour with her first child, without a c-section - that has tradition in my family, mother, grandmother, everybody needed 3 days and nights for the first one. *shrug*

Women aren't sick when giving birth and they can work for hours when the contractions are still far apart and the membranes haven't ruptured. What is the use of sitting in a hospital bed for those hours staring at a wall? Does it make it better? A hospital is still within 10 minutes reach in most parts of the Western world, especially when sitting an exam.

I understand that it can take a long time (my mum went through labours that lasted days, too)- sounds agonizing, honestly. But I gotta wonder, who the frak could concentrate on something as complex as law with the discomfort, the cramping, the contractions? Tough, yes- I wasn't disputing that. Sensible? I have my doubts.

Think of it that way - the cramps come every... let's say 12 minutes and last for a minute, you breathe through them and they're still just the opening contractions (not those horribly painful contractions that open the cervix or the very forceful ones to actually expel the child). Gives you another 10 minutes to continue with your exam. Repeat it for let's say the last 30-40 minutes of your exam and you have spared yourself to re-sit it with a crying newborn at hands - or wait for another year and then re-cram all the knowledge into your head while at the very moment you're totally prepared for everything :D

I find it rather sensible when I remember how it was like to sit exams at university ;) (this is of course just a possible scenario, if she was like half an hour before actually having the baby and still remains I'd wonder, too!).

LOL I understand the predicament she was in, she probably would have had to wait another year, at least, to take her bar exams... but JEEZ, it's a baby. O___O Some people are just too "cold" for my tastes, and she sounds like one of those calculating creatures that give me the ever-loving creeps... if that's how and why she did it that way. One can only hope she chooses to use her great powers of concentration and planning for good.
