Back from the memorial
So we just walked in the door from the memorial. Stayed the night with a friend so we could make it this morning.
Wow... what a day.
Kei's father may have been homeless but he had so very many friends and 'family' that loved him there at the service. Everyone had a story to tell Kei about his dad. Everyone was completely shocked to find out he had a son.
His fathers worker from the homeless shelter got us all the family information and contact information he had. And apparently Kei has a full blooded sister (not brother) named Bambi that were now going to try and find and contact. As well as two half brothers from a previous marriage. We have his ex-wife's name and the names of his half brothers now too. We are going to have a lot of phone calls and digging to do. We have his fathers parents names and my mom is going to start Kei's genealogy. (My mom is HUGE into genealogy. I think ours has been recorded all the way back to like 32AD Its crazy. If there is anything to be found, my mom will make it her mission to find it.).
In any case.. were both EXHAUSTED. We slept on our friends hide-a-bed and it wasnt the most comfortable so we didnt sleep well. Kei was worried there would be no one there. It was so comforting to see so many people there for his fathers service. It was very emotionally draining. Hes on the phone now with his Aunt to let her know that the service was very sweet and people loved him and he didnt die alone. I was given the eulogy that was given so I am going to type it out and e-mail it to his cousin (his aunts son) so she can see what is said and pass it on to his other aunts/cousins.
Im going to get things typed out, emailed and pass out for a nap or something. Soooo tired.
And if you havent seen it yet, I encourage you to see and read Kei's poem regarding this whole mess. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6214952/
