i used the metaphor i used once before about how a domain name is just a nameplate fixed to your apartment door
and the actual apartment is your hosting space

you can move the nameplate to different apartments with more space or better utilities, or you can put multipul nameplates on the door to your existing apartment, but having just a nameplate by itself is prettymuch worthless.

it's okay with my dad, he's pretty understanding. he's a carpenter/craftsman, so he's used to people coming to him whenever they need their homes fixed. i'm the pc/website person, i'm used to them coming to me when they need their machines fixed...

and yeah i do not like the fact that one neighbor is a crackhead and another is a really brazen apartment of drug dealers who are frequently in trouble with the cops. it's just a bit stressful.
