Pregnancy possibilities
I wanna apologize in advance if this entry sounds a bit scattered. My mind isn't fully functional tonight. So there is a very high possibility that I may be pregnant. Infact, Ian and I are pretty much 98% sure I am. My last period was at the very end of June. Not long after, Ian and I took off on a bike trip. On this bike trip, I came down with a URI and we went back home so I could get treated for it with antibiotics. Antibiotics cancelled out my birth control pills. My period should have been here a week and a half ago. My energy this past week has been at an absolute zero. Last night I started getting really sick, experiencing vomiting and dizziness, and have been just feeling like crap since. Then this morning I freaked the fuck out hardcore in a very uncharacteristic way that I haven't done since I was a teenager. I was in complete and utter hysterics, crying, throwing up and cowering in a corner for about an hour like I was some kind of cornered animal. THIS. IS. NOT. ME.
In addition to all this, I've been told that animals can detect pregnancy in women. I pointed out to Ian about a week ago about how Charlotte has uncharacteristically started sleeping at the entrance to our bedroom. She either sits there and looks in, or she lays down, but will NOT enter unless we call her in. This isn't Charlotte's personality. She's never been afraid to enter the bedroom before. Infact, she prefers the rooms we sleep in. We took a pregnancy test and it came back negative, but I've been told that means nothing and to get it done professionally. So next Monday, we're heading to the doctors to get officially tested. If we ARE expecting like I have a feeling we are, this isn't necessarily a good thing but it's by no means a bad thing either. We were planning to actively start trying to conceive next spring/summer after we got some things squared away anyways. This would just mean we'd have to start squaring those things away a LOT faster. In the end, I know we'll figure something out and we'll be okay. I guess I'm just scared because 1. I've never been pregnant before and that fact alone frightens me and 2. I've never been that good at dealing with change.
Not much else to say I guess. Just needed to vent is all.

with the support of your mate i'm sure you'll make it through ^^
Either way, congratulations and while the road may seem hard having a supportive environment can make all the difference. :)
Though to help you out, there's a few things I'd like to point out. Home pregnancy tests can be pretty sensitive. It partly depends on the brand (though more expensive is not guaranteed better). It's best to try and take it in the morning, when your urine is most concentrated. But more than that, it also depends on when during your cycle you take the test. Too soon and it may show a false positive. It's generally suggested that if you get a negative and you're sure you're pregnant, to retake it after a few days if it was done really soon of the missed period. Also, other things could cause a skipped period such as sickness or stress even, so it's good to eliminate those choices as well.
And that's my nursing-student tips of the day. lol.
