Jumping out of Airplanes

Yes! As the journal name implies... I FINALLY went Sky Diving!
On Sunday I went for it. Talk about absolutely amazing. It was incredible. The view, the wind, the adrenaline. I loved every minute of it, and yes I WILL do again! Hopefully sooner rather than later.
Proof you say? Here ya go! http://s34.photobucket.com/albums/d.....t=DSC00397.jpg
I also have a video, which I hope to get up online soon.
I did a tandem jump, so I was strapped to my instructor, but that allowed us to go to 10,000 feet, and freefall for half of it.
This was actually a goal of mine. Well, to be honest this was a goal for my mom and me. We planned to go sky diving by the time I was 25. She is no longer around, so I was determined to still complete our goal, and I went on my own.
Feels good to complete a goal I've been hanging onto for 10 years :3

FA+

This is very amazing photo, and good that you reach goal you wants =3
So glad you got to fulfill a dream.
Did you go just once?
It is expensive, but for a once in a lifetime experience it's worth it. They also do training (which I might do when I can afford it) which gets cheaper over time, and once you're trained and have your own gear it's affordable, lol.
It was a bit chilly, but not as bad as I expected. It was the sheer wind pressure I noticed more than anything.
My ears popped in the plane ride up, but I didn't notice them at all on the jump.
The chute opening doesn't hurt, but it was so sudden and surprising that I actually burst out laughing after he pulled it. Although as we were hanging my legs did start aching after a bit where the straps dug into them.
I'm normally terrified of heights, and I felt a bit of it in the plane. Oddly though, as we jumped and while we were in the air I felt no fear. It's a weird sensation, but being free in the air like that just felt incredible. I think it's also hard to really assess the height and fear with nothing to compare it to. No building ledge or mountain side to give you that sensation. You're simply free.
As for time, the freefall was for 30 seconds, and it went by pretty fast. I was completely caught up in the rush of it. After we pulled the chute was when I really took the time to look around. and of course the view is beyond compare :3
Oh, and I got to steer the chute for a bit! Which was an amazing experience in itself, and definitely makes me want to try solo sometime!
A group of my friends all want to hit up the local hang gliding place here! *Can't wait*
I'm hoping that when I do go hang gliding i can bring my DLSR and snap some photos of the flight!
Yeah, doing that would scare the shit outta me O_o I am just not comfortable with extreme heights and falling XD
Next up: Nude skydiving! XD
Maybe Nude Skydiving would be free! XD
Certainly looks like you had fun. :O Lucky.
Then again, you only live once, and you might as well do what you wan, right? Can't blame you for that.
Have to say, that's a serious accomplishment there.
