Name: Umi Nigai

Why did you choose this name?: I took my name, found the meanings, then found the word for those meanings in Japanese. Basically, if I were to go to Japan, that's what I'd want people to call me.

What is your character?: A purple dragon type. Even if she does have hooves most of the time, she shape shifts and can have claws if she wants.

Why did you pick that for him/her?: Because of my dreams as a child and growing up. I often dreamed I was a two-headed purple dragon who could shapeshift. I did RP as that a few times, but I've come to realize that the two-headed form was just a symbol of my bi-polar disorder, so she evolved along with my understanding.

Does your character have any super powers?: I guess so. Since she's based off of myself and my dreams she has many of the abilities I do there. She tends not to use them often, however, since the use drains her. She's not truly god-like... She could be killed if she got shot, but since she can turn energy into any other kind of energy that's not likely to happen. For example, the stored kinetic energy that propels a bullet through the air can be turned into heat energy, thus melting the bullet and only sending heat through the air.
She's not particularly weak to ice, but she can't transform it because it slows molecules resulting in less energy. Basically cold is lack of energy and she can't transform something that isn't there.

Umi can shapeshift too, but again she rarely does it. She has a human form, a "feral" dragon form, and her normal anthro form.

She can travel to alternate dimensions thanks to a tower that she inherited. Another aspect from my dreams...

She does have an alternate personality who is more likely to use the powers. Oni Umi is what I call her. She's very kamikaze. Whatever she sets her mind on, she'll go for. She's totally illogical and is fully based on the ID. What she wants right now she'll go for even if it hurts her.
Again, based off of how I am when my meds fail. Spock would hate her.

How has your character evolved over the years?:
First I had a two-headed purple dragon character, and a human character with wings, a tail, and hoofed feet (Succubus anyone?). Eventually the dragon could turn human, and the human could shape shift. Once I met my fiance, who introduced me to the furry fandom, I decided to merge the two and make a character that I could live with for a longer amount of time.
She started out more like a crocodile, with clawed feet and more visible wings. Eventually I rounded out her face to more resemble a horse's, probably influenced by first gen MLP. I've always loved the idea of having hooves so I settled on those for her. So I guess she could be draco-horse.
Her wings aren't visible for two main reasons. They constantly change shape, and wings are a beyotch to draw for me. I can never settle on a shape for her wings unless she's Oni Umi.

Oh, and Oni Umi is a throwback to her two-headed days of course.

Is your character single?: Nope. She's mated. The relationship is a little strange though. Let's just say her mate and  SilverFurredKage share a soul, so she is also very VERY attracted to Kage. Her mate, James, is more the stay at home and watch the house type. He cooks her dinner, cleans the house. House husband, I guess you could say. He's a really sweet guy and understands Umi and her fascination with Kage.
She also has a child, by James.

Where does your character live?:
Inside a mountain/cliff-side on the edge of a desert about 10 miles away from a town. Her world is populated by everything imaginable, but its society and culture is almost identical to ours. They have the same stores, the same culture references...
