Trip to, heave and ho; Up, down, to and fro- You have no word
Hey guys. For those of you who have been following my journals know that I wasn't able to get online at all the past few days. Well, i'm back now! One of the main reasons I couldn't get on the computer is that I wasn't home. I went camping for a few days with my mum, since we love doing stuff like that.
First day at our camp was riddled with bad vibes. We got to the site and there was a dead squirrel on our park bench that I had to remove and give a proper burial. (He probably had just died there earlier that day, but he didn't look old or diseased. :( )
Other than that we had a great time. lots of live squirrels to keep us company and beautiful views, wild berries to eat, and trails to hike.
I payed tribute to the dead squirrel by drawing a picture of it on the table. I also drew a deer, stellars jay, and a raven. I drew them only using two natural components, charcoal from the fire pit and Diatomaceous earth (A chalky substance we found in the mountains). I will post pictures of them soon! And a note to self: Wood is an amazing surface to draw on using these natural pigments.
Weather was perfect and we both had a great time.
Expect more updates/picture uploads through out the day. :)
How have you all been? How is your week so far? Looking forward to anything coming up?

Aw man, sounds like the perfect camping trip.
All there is to see down here is dirt and cactus.
Good for you two with burying the squirrel and such. :)
I CAN'T WAIT FOR MY DAILY DOSE OF ICY!
Feed me pictures from your trip! :D
I've felt like shit because I haven't sleep for more than two hours for the past three days.
OH GOD IT HURTS KILL ME
And cactus sounds bloody fun! I love cactus. :D I wish stuff like that grew wild 'round here.
I will upload some of them, mostly just the picnic table ones. :3
You must sleeeep! ;_;
Don't make me worry about you, dude. sleep is yo' friend.
-holds back hungry jellyhound mob- NO I WONT KEEL YOU, i wont let it happennnn~
Poor little critters. Reminds me the last time I went camping. I would feed them, they'd come close enough to take it from my hand. Friendly little things.
The squirrels there seemed fairly tame, but still had the instinct to run away when you moved towards them, which is good. I remember one day we were there, eating PB&J for lunch, and one little guy came and sat under my legs under the bench. I guess since he couldn't see my eyes he thought I couldn't see him or something? So I "accidentally" dropped a little piece of bread, and he gobbled it up and just chilled there for a bit, till I looked down at him. Then he bolted. xD
I dunno if they have squirrels where I'm going. In the white mountains in Arizona they have loads of them. I gave a marshmallow to one, it tried putting the whole thing in its mouth. He looked really funny. But he nibbled on it. There was a baby, I fed it extra cause it was being bullied by the other older squirrels.
Oh I love to camp. I adore fishing! Love fish, so much. C:
...okay that's weird > > an omen maybe?
that sounds neat and pretty, can't wait to see them
pretty good all things considered, glad to hear your doing okay ^ ^
next week I'm starting a new job! hells to the yeah! lol
Congratulations! What job will you be doing? are you looking forward to it? :D
know I gotta ask, but did you kayak by chance? where you ever close a river to?
thanks ^ ^ I'm going to be a well gauger it'll be a decent change from welding all day in the sun * * lol yes ma'am I am
Sometimes I wish I did, but i'm not very well coordinated for things like that. And well, the rivers I was near were all connected to steep waterfalls, so... ^^;
That sounds hard, but if you know what you're doing I guess it shouldn't be all that bad. Good luck! -hugs-
oh don't let that get you down, the first times I got into one I did pretty well (mind you I'd only rowed or canoed a handful of times previously) you'd pick it up too just like that *snaps fingers*
the best kind! lol you'd have seen my dumb ass jumping off them if I was anywhere close to that place
I thought so too at first but the guy that's coming into teach me has 50+ years experience doing this so hopefully I'll get enough notes and training to pull through ^ ^
thanks icy *picks up and bearhugs back*
How have you been, dear? :)
Yourself? :3 Sounds like you had an awesome trip!
My trip was pretty fun. I really love the outdoors and I love to camp. It's just that feeling of being out and wandering without any time restraints or pressure to be anywhere... Just being free I guess. It was nice. :)
Haha, oh man. I'm not sure I even remember my login info for AIM. I'm pretty sure my name on there is "benchwithabass" though.
Sounds lovely! :D
And I'm glad camping was fun! I want to hear all about it soon. c: I'll try to call you tomorrow. I miss muh buddeh. ;;
