FA AUP Update: More bitching.

I'm sure you've all heard by now that FA has once again changed their Acceptable Upload Policy, and once again allowed it to further restrict what counts as "acceptable." It's a shame, really. Personally, I always thought that the Furry community was the most accepting and open-minded group I've ever belonged to. Indeed, it was the first group I ever felt like I really belonged to. I always tell my non-Furry friends how amazing it feels to go to a Furry convention, and not have to worry about what other people think of the way I express myself, because it's the diversity of Furries as a whole that make our fandom unique. Everyone has their own level of involvement in the Furry community, and there are just as many ways of expressing it.
This brings me to my next point. Everyone has their own "thing." And by "thing" I mean something they really, really like. (Sorry, trying to keep it G-rated here.) For some people, this "thing" is being with people very similar to themselves. For others, it's being with someone different. For some, it's playing with certain toys. For some, it's a certain activity. I'm sure most of you get the point.
See, the problem is, some people (we'll call them Group A) don't understand why other people (Group B) like certain things, so Group A whines and complains about the things Group B likes, so to make Group A shut the hell up, Group C tells Group B not to like those things. But Group B has every right to like these things, and Group A doesn't seem to understand that either, so to keep the peace, Group C tells Group B that they can still like those things, as long as no one else knows about it. Then Group C build a big, solid wall between Group A and Group B to stop them from fighting. This still doesn't solve the problem, because now Group A has nothing to complain about, so they decide to go around the wall and spy on Group B. Yet somehow, the ensuing war is blamed on Group B, even though they weren't causing problems and Group A doesn't seem to understand that they don't have to associate with Group B if they don't want to. At this point, Group A needs a swift kick in the face.
I happen to be a proud member of Group D, which is the group of people who don't necessarily enjoy the same things as Group B, but realizes that they have the right to enjoy those things, and if we don't enjoy them, who cares? However, there is one thing Group D will absolutely not tolerate. That one thing is intolerance. I know it sounds hypocritical, but listen to the rest of the story. Group A is highly intolerant. They have every right to be intolerant, but not to the point that they try to prevent other people from liking certain things. Group A should learn to be intolerant in a place where they don't have to look at the things Group B likes.
As I said before, everyone has their own "thing." Group A's thing is making life miserable for others. Group B like things Group A doesn't approve of. Group C likes to make Group A happy. Group D likes being friends with Group B.

I'm in Group Z: I'll do anything I can, in every way possible. That means if I can't use FA to bring some stuff up, then I'll use DA which is my second-most used furry site as it's been growing more popular there. If I can't do it to DA, then I'll do it to FA. If I can't do it to either of them, I'll use another site that will. If I can't do it at all, then I'll keep it to myself and those that are interested. So bottom line: Group Z rules! Yeah for Zetans like myself! =D

I would say I am group D. Because I have babyfur friends, and I don't like babyfurs personally. However, the ones I love who are babyfurs or littlefurs mean a lot to me, and whatever they like should be up to them, and not to me or others. Same goes for zoophiles and pedophiles. While the two types of sexual fetish are illegal and, for most, immoral, I see it as a situation where I say "If you aren't hurting anyone else physically (if you masturbate to pictures of it instead) there should be no reason for disgust from outside parties."
