How are you funding the plethora of new merchandise you are trying to push? Is it through user donations?

I don't have one of that type, but I'll see what I can find in ways of a replacement via other channels. *goes digging*

And I found a replacement for $30 plush shipping through official channels.

I'm really starting to hate sounding like a broken record about money, but it seems every time I go to twist an arm and get repaid, someone twists mine back.

rather than buying an all new tab why don't you just cut out the bad usb and splice it with another?

look crow, the reason I haven't been donating and I'm sure it's the same for a lot of people, Is you lagg a lot dude, yes you are an awesome artist!! a lot of talent and I enjoy what you make and appreciate your work. but as a friend to friend, show the people you are devoted to this, you are buying a brand new computer, having your rent paid, new equipment because of donations. The least you can do for your loyal fans is be dedicated to us as well, your website says things like work in progress june? As a tip give weekly updates on a given day of the week, like friday, even if they are small like added details! but make it about the game not just the store if you dont have the right gear on hand fix things you can w/o that, like your website. But when you work off a time frame and schedule like that you will find that your work load will increase at a more steady and managable pace because its more organized plus your fans are happier! I'm not telling you this to be rude or anything, but bold, yes, definitely, these are the skills i am learning in my buisiness managment coarses so take them and utililize it! I know you can do it crow so start this week!! make it happen, weekly updates every friday i know you have what it takes lets do it for the fans

My thoughts exactly. People are apprehensive about forking over their hard earned money because the lack of consistency. I understand it is a big project and you are constantly trying to do things in every single direction but I think you should focus more on the game itself first rather than the store. The last few updates have been nothing but merchandise and that is pretty disheartening for fans and contributors. Do not take this as a personal attack on you and instead take it as constructive criticism. You consider HTH Studios a paid service as do a whole lot of people, especially those who already donated themselves. Look at it this way.. If we are paying for HTH Studios then I think it would only be fair if we had consistent updates. The end of this month is coming around the corner. Are we going to have to wait til September for an update when donation time comes around? The hundred of dollars that goes to funding HTH Studios does not justify the inconsistency of updates. I don't think I am being unfair by saying this. If you are working day and night throughout the week like you say you have then I think it is fair to say that we as fans expect more. I love your work. I love your characters and have been a fan of HTH since the very beginning but I am starting to lose a little bit of my faith. I am not saying your misfortunes and computer malfunctions are convenient but it does make some people wonder. From a businesswoman's point of view, I can honestly say that people are less likely to buy products and HTH memorabilia if there is little on the new game itself. You can't possibly expect sales to thrive based only on a dream or the legacy from the origins of HTH. The internet is like a market anywhere else, we expect a whole lot if we are going to contribute. i hope you read this, Crow and maybe this might make a little sense to you. Please do not brush this off or take it badly and reply with some spiteful comment. There are a lot of sheep who follow HTH but your real fans, true fans, will always leave constructive criticism rather than telling you what you want/like to hear. Cheers.

as a project manager at a rather large online company that deals mostly with onair stunts and games; I work very closely with developers and designers. What you could use is someone in the same role to keep you on track and to do a step by step of what should be done in order. (If you like I'd be willing to even look over your checklist and help organize) Don't try to do the whole game at once, that just going to frustrate all parties involved. Don't sell merchandise before the product is out. Ad banners to support yourself, sure...a pillow? not so much. Point is, the idea of what you have been up to is fun and original. The coding is not impossible however. I've seen it all. I commend you for working on this, but give yourself a schedule if you have not and work on an area or a character at a time, finish and move on. Everyone here is going to be happy and understanding that this is a Beta and not gold version. Crack open a beer, take a deep breath and dont sweat the small stuff (its all small stuff by the way) and try not to be so ADD with what you are working on. Again, feel free to hit me up and I think you'll feel like a pressure valve has been opened.

I appreciate your concern. However please understand that I have been working myself to the bone on code for HTH2 and character designs. I am one guy doing the work on 4 -6. I code, I do 3d and I animate bot tween -style and frame-by-frame. It take a long time just to make a character stand up and say hi and make it look good. I have said it before this is a very time consuming process and I do not want to rush my work for the sake of other peoples inpatients or demands.

There are thousands of lines of custom code in this game. Code that I have written myself to do things that many people say CAN NOT be done in flash. However please bear i mind that no one else is doing this in flash. I have no tutorials, no code templates and no one who can really assist me other than those who already are. This all trial and error and to top it off some time my equipment fails. I did not start this with a million dollars, there fore some things take time. Way to much takes money. I am not asking for money .. just a pen that some one could donate.

Did you check on the links Torakazu posted for your pen? Again.. I don't doubt you are busy but even if you cannot do updates because of hardware malfunction, even if you your hands are completely tied, people are going to be hesitant to donate more money next month because they expected a whole lot this month since you got a new PC and all. I know you say there is an optimization process but I want you to keep that in mind. Do you have a back up plan if you are short on donations? I want you to think about that. As wonderful as the project is I doubt with all my heart that you will be able to survive with just donations alone.

We are working to updating the ENTIRE GAME! June's updates are still there because we are trying to move Every file to a new system and optimize. I too am going to have to echo what has already been said. It seems that for the last 3 weeks, your focus has been on merchandise. Now, I'm not suggesting that's all you've done (perhaps you did more work and didn't bother to list it) but if you want to keep getting money, you are going to have to show something for it, because someone might misconstrue all that rent and equipment money is being funneled in to merchandising or pot and not in to actual content. You can understand, this would make people skeptical about future donations (and those who had already donated might be getting a bit miffed). The idea of publishing a journal regularly would be the first step towards fixing this, as it could quantify for fans how much bang they are getting for their buck.

Try and understand this from our point of view. Even though we love you and support you, every now and then we still need a little something from you

People asked for merchandise and people have bought it. I'm trying to go in the directions that people suggest but I am only one guy. Animation, code, and 3d artwork are not the fastest media to work in. It takes hours to set up. ours to color, days at times to render, and to top it off I am writing most of y own code from scratch.

Nobody in the flash gaming world has really bothered to do more than experiment with some of the ideas that I intend to implement in my games. An I am doing so. But this takes time.

I took the time to work on merch because people don't like donating for nothing, I understand that. People on the forum and this site have asked me to design product, saying they would buy, and some have.So I figured we give them shirts and art to buy on product.

And yes, a god chunk of updates are on my computer getting ready to go. A tn of work is done just not assembled. No one wants to see partial sprites and area code so It's not that easy to "JUST POST IT"


I appreciate the advise and your concern however, I do not consider my efforts to be a waste or misguided.

I think what people are really looking for is increased communication. I realize you're a very busy man, and are obviously devoted to your work; however, all that we (your fan base) are really asking for is more communication. Hell, all you'd have to do is set aside a certain time period each week to post, here on FA, what progress you made that week. If you do that, I can almost guarantee you kill all worry/impatience in those following you.

Hopefully, you consider doing this, as it is a good idea. Also, if you do, keep it regular; people like consistency!

But beyond that, keep up the good work, and I hope you can continue to do this for a living; so I can still believe that some people can do what they love and still get by.

Sorry crow I had no idea how intense that is with the game and all. So from now on instead of questioning what u do I will just be a loyal fan. ALL HAIL THE CROW!!! I will say that with every post I make until you finsih the game.

Six comments hidden o.o...almost scary. Ya know maybe its just me...but when I see Structure One updates it urks me as opposed to HTH updates x.x...I mean not in a offensive way but just more like concentrate on one item at a time. I put my two cents into the thread. Please don't kill me T.T

I just want to say keep up the good work. I know how frustrating hardware issues are (just lost a HDD myself). I have tried flash and it is soooo time consuming so I admire you devotion and dedication to dedicate yourself to one project.

okay i dont really know about anyone else here, but i cant wait until at LEAST the next update comes out. im sure alot of you guys cant wait either. but understand. to make alot of necessary updates, crow needs a stylus. now im not trying to sound hypocritical by saying this. but come on guys its like 30 bucks, thats ridiculous that noone wants to donate one. its not alot of money. check the links that torakazu posted at the top. id guess that it totals out to be like 35 bucks (that includes shipping) and then another few bucks to send it to crow so that he can get back to work on a game that we love and that he is so overly devoted to. we should be thankful of that! now can somebody get this man a STYLUS PLEASE??
