Trip to, heave and ho; Up, down, to and fro- You have no word
So, my commissions are officially open, for those of you who have been waiting.
Currently i'm working on three badges but if anyone else is interested in one, I can add you to the list.
BUT
Keep in mind, since school has begun for me; commissions will be a bit slower out the gate. this is because I value my academics, and I don't feel like failing classes because I lost sleep over my commissions. I work and go to school, and do commissions, and do other things. So all I ask is that you're patient with me. :)
School has begunnnn. i'm getting ready for classes and am preparing myself mentally to deal with it. I've never really had an interest in school. The environment isn't my favourite, and it's not like I don't like to learn. I love to learn, I just dislike the way it's usually taught. It isn't made interesting. It's almost always right out of a book or out of mouth; never really experiencing or immersing yourself the subject you are taught. The only classes i've excelled at are the ones i'm interested in, as well as the ones which you are hands-on in the learning. Otherwise it's dull and boring and extremely hard to focus.
My sketches for the charity prints are coming along! I don't know how they will do but i'm hoping people will consider buying them, since most of the money will go toward the cause. The reason I want to do these so badly is because one person alone usually can't do much for a charity. but a community as a whole collecting funds to donate can really make a difference. And not only would I be supporting the charities but i'd be able to practice on an artform that I really enjoy. I have quite a few designs.
Here's a question- Is there a specific charity you really admire/support? Or is there a specific animal, human, or environmental cause you support? These can be local or global, just list one if you'd like and why you support it.
My PO box is looking awfully lonely. I'm wondering whether I ought to cancel it after the 6 months are up. I love using it, but I'm not sure if it's worth it if i'm only getting one or two letters a month.
How have you all been? Anyone else starting school? are you nervous/excited/angry/etc?

Charities, hmm. I would say whatever is close to your heart. Mine would be an animal shelter or leukemia. Not even a week ago a friend of mines daughter died of it. She was only 17 years old. I didn't know her very well but it tugged at me. It's up to you Miss Icy, or maybe you can do multiple charities. Splitting the money.

The thing about me is, i'm not too sociable. So when i'm asked to be in a group activity, or stand up and say something, I freak out. I either shut down completely or say something stupid just to get the whole experience over with. Socially awkward? Meee? x3
Yeah, I want to do more than one, definitely. That's what the several sketches are about. Each sketch is for a different organization, and also features something different as the subject. That way, it'll give folks variety in choosing and in artwork. ^_^ I might put them up on etsy too, and encourage people to spread the word about them. It'll give me a reason to start printing again. :)
That's sad about the leukemia thing.. It's crazy how something like that can totally change everything. Sometimes it can be so sudden, too. Only thing about diseases/conditions; how could I represent that in a form i'm comfortable with, like animal wise, etc? Then again, i'm also thinking about doing some painting if I can ever find the time.. Maybe I could do some kind of painting for that.

Work with what your more familiar with. Animal charities, when you have more experience work with other places you want to do. You know how cancer has ribbons? Why not find an animal to represent for lemkuima or what your gonna work for. Seems like a fun little project. A lot more stuff though on your plate but I'm sure you can pull it off! :D

Obviously it's up to you though! I'd say just go for any cause that strikes you as important/urgent.
I don't go back to college until early September x.x I'm excited though! It's been a dull, unproductive summer and I'm ready to do work again.

I went on that sanctuary's website, it sounds amazing. Maybe, for farm sanctuaries, I could do select prints of different animals.. One for each sanctuary, and have each print go toward a different place in the country. If people bought the whole set, maybe i'd put in 100% of the proceeds to them all, and divide it between them.
AW LUCKYYY. I dunno. I don't like the atmosphere of school.. For some reason I always feel trapped and confined, and have trouble focusing.

Nah, I know what you mean. I felt like that all through high school. I just like college because I'm in all music classes all the time now XD
Art history could be interesting!
