Under this law, not only can my journalism teacher NOT contact me (her editor-in-chief) outside of school (I need to be on call like 24/7 to manage the paper), but she can't be friends on facebook with her coworker, my french teacher, because she was a REALLY old student of hers.
There are soooo many better ways to handle this. :/

How are coaches going to keep in touch with their teams? Put out an official bulletin EVERY TIME?
*growls*
And I know if my totally un-molested friends were asked, "were you sexually abused by a teacher?" on a poll, half of them would say yes just because they wanted to skew results and be funny. :/
This law makes it that, even if you graduated 10 years ago, you can't friend your old teacher. It also makes it so coaches/advisors can't text students, which is a HUGE issue for my newspaper class x'D
We live in a lovely state... but sometimes they're just so silly. I myself lobby at the capitol for some things, and they seem like they understand what's going on... but then they pass stuff like this and I'm like "what?"
