Well, the end of the year has finally come. How lovely :D
My first semester in college was better than I expected. I accidentally took a senior course, but I passed it nicely; I have a 4.0 (which is better than many adults to whom I've talked... who report 0.8 and such) and a recommendation from said class's teacher for the honor's department. Needless to say, I'm pretty happy.
Furthermore, I enjoyed it. I love living in a dorm, my own room, my own place with my own lock and key. I thought living with
ping might be Hell, just because we know each other too well, but it's been OK. My only problem is that he likes to watch TV at 3 in the morning, and I have trouble sleeping with the TV on, but I think I can deal with that for one more semester. I love my little room, though. Room 111, easy to remember, easy to find, and a door away from the laundry room. It's lovely. I think I'll stay there for the rest of college :3
Christmas has really broken me this year x3 Trying to get a decent gift for a lot of people really wears out your wallet! I usually put up a list of what I get, but this year, I think I'll do a list of what I'm giving :D
-Mom: A nice pair of PJ's; it's a bit of a tradition.
-Dad: I Love Lucy's Fourth Season on DVD :o and a little holiday DVD that came with it for free.
-Grace: A guitar chord poster; she just started guitar lessons this year.
-Reece: Mom got him what must be the coolest guitar toy on the market, the one Drake Bell advertises. I approved, and it was given in my name. Seriously... I had fun with that thing.
-Babe: A one-a-day calendar of Bush-isms; he's a riot, isn't he?
-Grandad: A DVD collection of Westerns; I always see him watching them... and I caught him singing "He's Fat... Fat Bastardson," to parody the Bat Masterson movie.
-Aunt Liz: A nifty, orange, spinning, 3-dimensional "T"-shaped wind thingy; she's a Vol's fan.
-Reecie: A lovely, flowery picture frame, for a picture of her new puppy Muffy.
-Extended family: An autographed copy of our CD 一番, with bonus solo work included.
-
ping : A shot glass which reads, "Why can't everyone just get a bong?"
-
doritojunkie : I can't post that here because he reads these things :3
-TJ: A lighter with a lovely sentiment about rednecks; I know he hates them, having grown up around them, and I thought it might make him happy.
-Brennan Wailen (spelling?): A shot glass which reads, "I like to get shitfaced. What's your hobby?" Brennen's a total 'alchie' :3
-Sam: A bumper magnet which reads, "If you're going to ride my ass, you can at least pull my hair!" He's the kind of guy who will stop in front of a tailgater. I immediately thought of him when I saw it.
FurAffinity/LiveJournal watchers: A song, made of 48 or so hours of sweat and Carpel Tunnel. Enjoy it :D
I'm still getting more, hopefully tomorrow. I have to get something for JJ,
brightlioness, Lambo, Scott, and Terry, at least.
I will say, though, that I have a new guitar, about which I am extremely excited, since my old one blows glass :P expect better sound quality for my electric pieces :D
THANKS SANTA!

You know, I heard an interesting story the other day...
An old lady bought some children some candy canes while waiting in line at the grocery store. As she handed them their treats, she told them, "Remember what Christmas is all about." When the children asked their mother what she meant by that, she became annoyed, saying, "Those crazy Christians, trying to take over," and such. Another man in line chimed in, and another...
OK, I'm all for a secular government and whatnot, but... come on.
Christmas is about giving.
What did you think she meant?
Or perhaps this woman was annoyed that the woman voiced that this is the Christmas season.
Well, it is.
It's also winter, December, and flu season.
What's the problem?
You know what else? They're trying to ban the phrase, "Ho! Ho! Ho!" because it's degrading to women.
What is this world coming to?

In other news, I've been playing Earthbound. I'm in love with it. Again.
Merry Christmas, my friends! Enjoy your present! See you in 2008!
Yours,
Buck

Yeah, I do read them, hehe. I still have to get gifts for everyone; I've been lazy and I hate shopping. I also love making excuses.
