First off, I'm finally over that horrible throat problem. Went to the doctor on Monday, found out that yep, I had strep throat. Since then I've been on antibiotics and today was the first day I've gone through without being in constant pain, so hopefully that's all over and done with.

In the mean time, I've been pondering something. I've always been rather frustrated with my inability to draw myself the way I want, but looking deeper, I realize at least part of it has been because I didn't really know exactly what I wanted to look like. I've considered myself a monitor lizard for some time now, but in fact I have seen very few monitor species, and that just seemed... wrong.

On a semi-related note, I had an interesting conversation at RMFC with a staff member guarding the art auction who told me that I reminded him of a perentie, just from how I came across. [Now I want to know how he had enough experience with perenties to have made that judgement!] Well, I went home and looked at a few of them, and just based on their form it seems like they're much closer to how I imagined myself initially... Behaviorally, I'm still looking for information, but I think I've got a species now! It's going to take a bit of character redesign, but I need to make it happen.
