Hurricane: "Come on Irene"

Since when did i ever have to worry about hurricanes? I thought Florida usually took the brunt of these damn things. Why the hell is Irene coming up North into New York?? Maybe she doesn't care for the warm climate or key lime pie down there. Or perhaps she has a craving for a New York slice of pizza.
Apparently we're in panic mode, although i'm sure those folks who deal with these things on a weekly basis down in Louisiana and Florida probably think we're being a bunch of pussies. (80 mph winds?? LOL) But i guess i should take it seriously. That means i have no idea what damage will be done to my area and how it will affect my internet and power. So if i'm blown away in the storm and wake up somewhere in Oz (or Canada) i will do my best to return to you guys!

Hopefully it won't be too destructive plus i'm pretty far from the coastline. As of now it's just expected to be a tropical storm
rather than a full blown hurricane by the time it reaches me. Hopefully it's not as bad some people worry. But i have stocked
up on food and such and the canned goods is a good idea, i shall add it too the list. thanks!
