Ever get that feeling where you sit back and look at your work and think to yourself, "My gods... I'm basically just redoing everything Joss Whedon did (or... insert famous source of all your ideas here). I have nothing original :S"
Like, what do you do? Do you keep trying to be completely original and possibly in the process simply achieve nothing or just roll with it and see what happens?

dont feel to bad about it...as long as you arent lifting text...actually borrowing whole sentences...but just copying a style or pattern of dialogue and creating plots with similar ways of unfolding...you're doing what a writer does
my writing is an amalgam of Storm Constantine, Poppy Z Brite, NeilGaiman/Terry Pratchett, Mercedes Lackey, Tanya Huff, Joss Whedon and damn near everyone I've ever liked reading or watching
and when you stir it up properly, it becomes uniquely me
