You know when you create a level, it asks you for a seed? What is that? I've entered numbers, hex values, words, everything I can think of, and all I get is a beach beside a forest, every single time. Even when I leave it blank.
It used to be that I get completely random biomes. The very first map I ever had was this really cool bunch of islands with volcanoes, and one island had a giant archway like thing. Then, as the updates came in, new levels started to all look the same. My old maps got deleted because of MC's retarded auto save. Now all I can make is a dumb tiny beach by a forest. Where did the variety go?

seed generator is the abundance of materials such as coal, iron, diamon, ect...
the fewer the numbers, the harder it is to find them... however having more numbers cant guarantee making it easyer to find them...
*or so I read on a large minecraft blogging site...*
There's even at least one seed you can prank people with...
Yeah, the prank seed I know of spawns you on a sandy beach... which immediately caves into a dungeon, with hilarious consequences.
