Please- I'm desperate and I don't know where else to turn at the moment. This is a shout out to anyone living around the Riverside County area in Southern California. My dogs were with my fiancé and got loose. I recieved a call from someone saying they were last seen being kicked into a creekbed by a strange man and child out near the Temecula area. Chinook, my wolfdog, has been recovered, but my Alaskan Malamute, Rokuta, is still missing.

Please- if anyone sees him- please cotact me or the local animal shelter or police ( we have left messages there already looking for him ). His name is on his tag.

Something that happened when my husky got out was we called the local animal shelter and they said two or three times they didn't have a dog matching his description. But we went up there personally just to make absolutely sure and, sure enough, he was there because whoever was on phone duty either didn't actually check or something. So I highly recommend you do that.

This EXACT same thing happened when my brothers Red Kelpie went missing. We learned to never brother calling vets/pounds. We just go there ourselves now.

Yeah. What was funny though is our husky has a very...interesting personality. As soon as we got there and told the lady which dog we were looking for and gave a detailed description, she grinned and said "Oh him. He's got quite a personality!" and we knew before we even saw him that he was there.

Thank you- I will definitely keep that in my mind. I keep checking their websites where they upload photos of stray dogs that have recently been brought it.

I only vaguely know of you through missus Wielder, but I know a friend or two in SoCal and posted a tidbit on my Facebook in hopes of gaining their and their friends attention. Losing a pet is a very scary thing and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you throughout this. :c

Thank you- I'm just worried because the person who called that I recovered Chinook from claimed he witnessed a man and young boy shoving them into the creek, kicking them and throwing things at them. He was able to get a hold of Chinook when the man left, but that my malamute was so frightened at this point he took off. So I am mostly worried about him being injured now and very confused/not thinking clearly, and wandering too near highways or something.

Oh my God! I know how you feel, I've been there. Don't worry though they'll be found safe and sound, you'll see.

It makes me sick to my stomach. My dogs are huge and intimidating looking, but extremely, extremely people-friendly.

Yeah- I got 2 phone calls from 2 different people. The first one said he had both my dogs- but was having a hard time getting a hold of my fiancé since the one number on their collars is disconnected- and I was trying to make contacts to somehow pick up the dogs. He hung up on me and about an hour later I got a call from someone claiming they someone pushing them into the creekbed and throwing things at them to make them go away. I'm a little under the impression the guy decided returning them to me wasn't worth the trouble, and my dogs were trying to follow them still coz they are very friendly :/

The second guy managed to pull my wolfdog, Chinook out of the ditch, but Rokuta was so
frightened at this point he ran away.

No. I'm worried about him very much. He is deeply bonded to Chinook and Rokuta is a very anxious dog that frightens easily ( he is a rescue- originally came from a bit of a dog hoarding situation. I adopted him back in early 2007 ). I worry about him alone in the California desert.

As someone who almost lost his dog once, you have my deepest sympathies. I hope someone finds your dog safe and sound and I'll post a journal to see if anybody can help *hugs*

It seems a lot of people believe receptionists at shelters and vet offices are unreliable. This might be a good place to look through once in a while! I checked all categories, and unfortunately he's not in there, but there's still plenty of time!
